Yet another good idea include the storyline "Last Order" but would I go far enough to say include Advent Children although I see no way to adapt the film to the game medium. But these are mere thoughts maybe it wouldn't be so great. AC stands strong as its seperate form of entertainment. What are we really hoping for the remake to be? an opportunity re-experience FF7 or a better version of it and is it even possible to make it better. Hopefully it won't be another failed rehash.

Only a bystander for now.

i think the motorcycle chase (minigame) or the submarine (minigame) should be redone as an fps just because i think something needs to be done that way. it could be in the overworld map before you encounter enemies or when you enter peoples' houses. something needs to be done as fps just for annoyance sake.

maybe a neat feature could be that they include the original PSX version of FF7 on the PS3 version. and if you save your game from the PSX ver, you can carry on where you left off with the PS3 ver. and vice versa. that seems a bit crazy but could work if they tried hard enough.

i like the idea of including stuff from last order. but why stop there? they could put in info from crisis core, or even advent children and dirge of cerberus. my opinion tells me to say that they should include everything possible in the Final Fantasy VII universe for the PS3 remake. it wont generate as much money for sony and squarEnix, but it could be one KICKASS FFVII collection.

So according to SuperXl the remake should be (and excuse the pun) a super pack of all FF7 material. Yeah if squarenix is intending to remake such a wonderful classic then they might just have to use everything to realy create something memorable. I think it will work I mean when we first saw the trailer for AC you got to admit you almost giggled like a child. And seeing "our" old friends was just awesome. About the fighting system I dont agree on full exclusion of turn based battle that would completely change the experience and might even ruin it. About the idea of saving on the PSX version and then continuing on the PS3 version I mean its cool and all, but why would you want to do that. Maybe the second time around after actualy playing the PS3 version first.

maybe after beating the PS3 version you could unlock the PSX version. or vice versa.

one thing i would definitely like to see included is a "video journal"... i think the phrase i want is an "in-game movie playlist". similar to what i remember from god of war, only FF7 style. it could include some key points of the story in the middle of the movie scenes. one of those unlockable things after you beat the game. i kinda wished they had something like that for kingdom hearts 2 also. i liked the story but i dont want to have to record every bit of my game footage so i can sit back and watch it later on. for games with good stories, sometimes i just want to sit back and enjoy the story instead of playing thru it. but as it stands now, not very many games will let you play the movies at the end of the game. am i the only weirdo like that??

Honestly I love in game story sections in which you don't control the character. I especialy like the beggining and end movie sequences which are usually the best. I know many people who skip the movie sequence to go straight to the action I find that childish and shows the person has no patience but anyway I just like playing with a purpose not just an objective. Yeah it's a great idea to include an unlockable movie viewer. Also they should make the chocobo training better. Like adding more chocobos maybe adding better minigames to breed and maintain the chocobos.???? Anyone care about the chocobos?

i forgot to mention chocobos... i remember playing thru the game (after beating it at least 2 times) JUST for the chocobo breeding part. that was one of the best time wasting moments i had. gonna go beat up my li'l sis and take back my soft-modded PSX and go breed me some chocobos.

i did find out (on my own) that if you fight with monsters 7+ times in any area, you can go back and forth to talk to the chocobo sage and he'll tell you how to breed one. then talk to that girl chocoBrenda or something and she'll help. i felt special.

but i think that was after i found out you can make a gold one from a gamefaqs tut. hahahahahaha

hahaha

Actually the first time i got one was after beating Weapon, and taking the item (desert rose, i dunno) to the old man. Kind of pointless though, i was already at level 99 and never had to push a button to win a battle lol.

Just a quick question to anyone that knows did the official strategy guide for FF7 have the information to obtain a Gold Chocobo?

I believe the offical Strat Guide did have the way to get the Golden Chocobo. I not really sure though. I don't use strat guides till I've beaten then game afew times just so I can 100% the game ^_^;

But, the only strat guide I ever really looked at for FF7 was the PC version o.O;

wow remake of FF7 thats interesting to know new 3D graphics jus like the movie that must be awsome!!! and some new features but the only thing is bout the story it'll stay the same and why they only remake FF7? why not FF8 FF9 FF10 or FF12 for even better graphics? thats my opinion(whew! luckily they're not remaking FF1-6)^_^

i do remember a rumor that was out some time ago where squarEnix was supposedly gonna re-release (not remake) FF 1-9 on PS2. 1-7 was supposed to be one disc, and 8-9 was another disc. i thought that was a frikkin awesome idea, but never heard anything past that point. wish i could remember where i saw that.

Ok I'm going to contribute, I haven't read through the forums totally, but I've got a pretty good idea from thoroughly reading through the first 2.

It's a 9:1 vote that people want it remade, 50:50 on how you want it to be remade, either with the same gameplay or complete remake and not just up the graphics. I'll tell you now, I want both.

I know how fun to some people (however n00bish) turn-based systems were and are. I still love them, and you just can't lose that element in FF7. I propose they have an option for both, considering that (in my mind and plan) the GPU engine will be Havok's Physics Engine, no argument.
If I was to write and design the remake soley from my point of view I would have the programming incorporate a MMORPG feel to it, fight like you would be able to in Kingdom Hearts or have the option (at the launcher, the changes would be too great to do in-game) fight in a turn-based envioronment like FF10, where alot of factors are considered in the battle (the basis of the CTB system) although still can be quite restricted; a good way to play because the CTB (Conditional Turn-Based) can be input with way more factors on a more powerful machine, namely XBOX 360, PS3 or a PC capable of running Oblivion on High Graphic settings. Just so people can keep the old school Final Fantasy experience.
Otherwise if you want to play as well as or move on (moi) you can have the options set to play the game 3rd person, 1st person or the classic overhead, still camera views in the old games. This would be a brilliant time to introduce the beautiful world of Gaia to the Havok Physics Engine, it's hard to explain their capabilities, if you've played Oblivion, you'll understand how far they've come, otherwise a good example would be Halo 2, the graphics were helped or made by Havok. Their technology has come along since Halo 2, quite far along in fact, play Oblivion, you'll soon understand. If one were to incorporate a virtual planet with the Physics Engine you would have a totally new world map experience. You would be exploring the world map without loading into a town, you can literally walk in. You would have no more random monsters, you would be able to see them, and load straight into a battle scene, alot like an MMORPG game. You would have totally different perspectives when driving or piloting vehicles in the game, and riding a chocobo would be fun, especially if they had a choice to fly, there's nothing to stop them either because the chocobos's once golden had nowhere they couldn't go.
A leveling system on almost everything would be appropriate, characters (obviously), materia, chocobo's and summons. The character levels would probably level about the same, and the materia. The chocobo's would be an interesting new bit of fun. What if a chocobo could fight? I'll explain the summons first, they would be different, they would also have a limit break, it would be based, however, on the summoning level of the character, so the summon's don't necessarily level, the character would level and certain abilities would be available to use. The level would then determine how long the character can keep the summon in the reality, or could blow it all on the summons limit break and basically have to wait until they're powerful enough to summon again (MP usage, this main idea is sprouting others) and do you know what would be really cool, if Bahamut leveled in the sense that he changes appearance, you'll still find the materia, but you'll have to use it differently, you'll have to level Bahamut to level 3 lets say, and then he becomes Neo Bahamut, but you need Neo Bahamut materia, then it would combine with your existing Bahamut materia, only if you're at the right level, and then the same with Bahamut Zero, but you have to level the materia/summon level from 3 to 5, and have the Bahamut Zero materia. Bahamut would be important because, well, he is, Bahamut King of Dragons, a name like that doesn't mean easy, if you tried to use that materia with someone with a lower level you would only summon one of the earlier versions, that basically makes it so that the materia unlocks the next stage of Bahamut, Bahamut however would still be restricted to the summoning limits, and guess what, I would make it so you don't just command the summon as a pet, I would make it so you could Telepathically connect your character to the summon, that's long storyline talk for, you will be able to fly around and blow things up as Bahamut, otherwise your summon and if you get hit by a monster you would break the mental link with your summon, to protect yourself, this would mean that you would see Mega/Giga Flare (Limit Break) in 1st or 3rd person, I might add a special camera effect you can select if you want to see your enemies vapourised, I think I would be looking forward to that most. The chocobo would have a similar restriction that summons do, have a bar to determine how long it can stand a battle atmosphere before it gets scared and runs away to safety, the more it battles, the longer it stays, it would have ablities that it would learn too, this would also be able to contribute in the overall status of the spouse that you get when breeding for a golden chocobo. The races would still be a big part. And the best part...the chocobo would have a limit break, of course it would have to develop it by being hit like the rest, but when it does, it would turn into a very memorable summon, you know, the one where the chocobo has a moogle rider, that is basically how I picture it happening, a moogle comes out of nowhere and charges your chocobo into the enemy, causing great damage (see, sprouting branches on my main idea).
Back to the world experience, the monsters would be visible and this is where you'll find out if you've made the right decision at the launcher. CTB or Real-Time, I'd most probably design a test fight scene with the options, but if you didn't like it you would be able to start the game again (saving first of course) and launching on a different battle option.
And all would be based on a 3D world, that moves around you, so if you had a fight in the shinra mansion for example, you would basically trash the place, especially when you fight Lost Number, that geezer would probably knock a few holes in the ceiling, and bring the chandeliers down.
Also if you were facing a monster that throws you out of the battle, you wouldn't necessarily be thrown out of the battle, you would be slung into a wall and be knocked out for the rest of that particular battle, no reviving. (and if not a wall, slung somewhere and knocked out for the battle).
If you fight 3rd person the 3 character idea would be a good one to stick to, so you would be able to switch easily and execute attacks with preset keys, or button codes if played on a console. Personally I think it would be a good multiplayer option, a co-operative play, like what FF9 had, except better because they can roam free on splitscreen if they wanted to, but not to far, if a battle was iminent I would program the monster to follow you until you're near your team, then there are no mishaps and you can still fight in a team. The turn-based options could be for someone that wants more control over the whole team, rather one character. Also a run option would be available, and it would be simple, select run, or turn tail and run from the monster (depending on the mode you're in).
-Reminder: Just think how good the magic'll look.
Now the experimental part, can something be born from something as godly and as parental as Final Fantasy VII. I'd be willing to try.
An MMORPG could be born, but not with the FFVII characters, just the world and it's people, after the storyline, but before the movie. No Cloud, as he was never seen until the movie. You would see people like Tifa, mainly because she owns 7th Heaven, and Midgar would probably have undergone at least a years worth of reconstruction. You could create characters, and better still, travel to the FFXI worlds, basically incorporate the FFVII world with the large FFXI MMORPG worlds and servers. You could play the game normally with Cloud, Barret and Tifa, and then launch FFXI and play on Gaia, go to the legendary towns of Midgar, Junon, Kalm and Nebelheim. Some people I know would say that wouldn't be a good idea, but then there are some that would say it would. I presented that idea to see how rejected or accepted it really is.
I personally think that FFVII worlds shouldn't be messed with by MMORPG's it's not built for it, it's a standalone non-internet game. And I totally think that a remake should be made, if I don't do it myself, with graphics like the Tech demo for PS3 it would be possible, mainly because the tech demo used about a 3rd of the PS3's capability and was made by a small team in 2 & 1/2 months, if it was a PC game, well a PC can go to just about anything, it would be brilliant gameplay as everyone is used to playing on a PC. The programming isn't as hard as I suggested, one element in there was from Digimon Rumble Arena, it's all possible, and some people will be reading this imagining it all in their heads, and then some.

If your reading, rich, happen to own a software company, or be the President of Square Enix, then if you can't be bothered to do it, give me the rights to, and the software company can help me cus I'm only 16, poor and looking for a job. I'll write a plan too, I'll get this game made, for the young'uns that are too used to playing on Next Gen consoles, they won't want to play a game with crappy graphics and gameplay, we would, because we have done, and most of us love it. (Pay me nicely though)

(All that above was so I can't get a job, honest)

Thankyou for reading all that, if it painted a picture in your mind that you liked, let me know, I'm gonna check this forum out regularly.

Ahthankyou

Keep this short and sweet, Ilove where you are coming freom. Despite only being 16, you have a frim grasp on the beauty of FF. You would make a great addition to the Square team. If I were a part of Square, I would for sure take all of your ideas into consideration, as many of them would better the FF7 experience.

Wow.. uh.. long post^^

I personally don't think it should be nething near Oblivion... Oblivion was worst then Morrowind. Beautiful graphics DON'T make up for gameplay value... and Oblivion and Morrowind prove this very well. Game.. Beautiful.. but boring as hell.. sorry about the language.

And the whole Bahamut thing.... No... that's all I have to say about that. From what I "got" form watching AC is the Bahamut changes looks depending on the mentality of the user. If you pay attention on AC Bahamut Sin looks almost identical to the random things Kadaj summons throughout the movie... so I believe this is where Neo and Zero come from... just my opinion though. But Bahamut should definetly be seperated... sorry ^^

yea you are right, at the time of writing I was thinking along strength of the characters mind and the levels of strength Bahamut goes through in those summons, if you know what I mean, as the characters magic/mental abilities increase, Bahamut changes and becomes stronger to the user, a stronger incarnation.

I understand and it's a good idea. But me personally would like the Bahamuts to be seperated if possible. I would'nt wanna change something as big as that form the original game. Upgrades but stay as close to original as possible seems good to me.

a ff7 remake would be cool but Id much rather see a full fledged sequeal. like troten said, graphics alone dont make a good game (though I completely disagree about oblivion being boring). FF7 was an incredible game, but Im not sure if I would pay $60-70 to play it again with better sound and video quality.

games Im looking forward to: bioshock, SSBB, enemy territory quake wars, halo 3

I totally agree, if Square and Square Enix were open to suggestions from us (I'd rather contact a person then an e-mail management program) and I would send them the ideas I have to them, even better, I'd represent them personally, especially if they'd let me show them a presentation. You might think it is a very farfetched idea, but hey I'm up for anything. (another hint to game makers out there) I understand people want something new, read my REALLY long post, that's just a few things that I would ask to be included if it was done, insist on putting in if decisions went out to the public.
