Square says diffrently 10 to 1 they have released a early release for the "net" as to find and sue downlanders.
Until I can find out that FF12 has turned based in it for myself I will continue to see a ray of hope..but then again sqaure likes kiling hope dead :P

LOL i know crap loads of people with the release...nobody has a letter in the mail yet......and its not going to happen. If you did your homework (apparently you havent) you would see it was a gold release, meaning it was the final release, the one sent to magazines and such to do a final review, and some dude uploaded it to a private tracker/ newsgroup and from there it spread.
Please get your info straight, cause you saying that Square released the leaked FF XII and being able to change the options to turn based battles (LMFAO at that) is absured and inaccurate.

Do you know how many changes can take place between gold and pressing,and turn based is such a minor option they can do it at any time,however Square are arrgont bastards it really can go either way.

Nothing will be changed!!! This was released almost a month ago, and was the final version, minus a few bytes that will be there when it is pressed and put into retail. Sorry to tell you this man, but the closest thing to turn based combat is the fact you can put the battle system on "wait" and be able to decide on your next action before the enemy attacks, but no matter what you do the system is not the same as any final fantasy released before XI.
LOL accept it now, that way you wont be so pissed when you find out the truth when it is released on Halloween! Yes the battle system sucks, but thats the way it is...innovation sucks at times, and in the case of final fantasy XII, IT REALLY SUCKS! Still love the game though :D

Says the guy with the "pre release",I here great things about vsita to but what most don't realize is theres 2 little switch's MS will throw when vister gets released and thos little switch's will make it in possible to play un protected Video and Music add MSs retweaking WGA to make sure that all their dragiconain rules can not be change.....welcome to the new world...
I don't trust pre releases of any kind as betas subject to change at any time until tis released,but for PC game I trust them because publishers would rather not sell more of the game by fixing it they would rather move on to the next project of failure...

Well, i love the story, if they keep that and at least something VERY similar to original gameplay with a few cuts (Shin-Ra TV march) thats all that matters. A few removals are inevitable because they're just not very necessary all the time. I cant wait to see FFVII Snowboarding! LOL. Seriously!

All i will say cause im sick of explaining things is that it is not a pre release, it is not a beta, ITS WHAT IS CALLED A GOLD RELEASE. Google it, its amazing what you can learn if you try!
Think it through man, This is the final release, sent to magazines. Why the hell would they send this to a company for review, then change something, making the review invalid? Hmmm.....doesnt make sense does it!!??

good point there...
Kinda off topic but here is an example of a bad remake...
MGS twin snakes. Well its actually not bad for first time players but if you have played the original on the PS1 then u will be pissed cuz its just not the same. Sure the graphics is great but it lack that same MGS feel.
Same voice actors and everything but they totally change how they speak. Mei Ling doesnt even sound Asian lol...
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

anyway Yes turn based is hidden in it just not a normal option you have to on wait and turn off gambits and guess what that makes it FF6 in its battles :3

to me static battles are fine sicne movement plays NO FREAKING ROLE in gamepaly tis like Wild arms 3 or CT or the lunar remakes for that matter until they take the time to use movement in a battle its rather POINTLESS....... give me ranks where I can hide weak characters behind stronger ones ....
Lunar sega CD and grandia are about the only RPGs I can think of that uses character placement and thier all Game arts games to boot,Lunar remakes have the same placement setup as grandia 1.

LMAO Zippy thats a bit of a stretch to consider that old Fnal Fantasy type battles. Even trying to cop out that much isnt cutting it, i still am right. What you said went from a "hidden" option to turning on wait and disabling gambits resembles old school battles is still completely wrong. No matter what you do, its still MMORPG like in the battle system....period.

wait stops time when menus are displayed....thus no one can continue untill the menu is put away,actions that are already in motion will most likely play out.
I didn't pay it that much attention only played it for an hour, its more or less old school like,least enough for me to stop and think WRF to do next without arctic pasueing....OMG evil thought.....I wonder if I still ahve that slow mo PS2 pad that has auto rapid fire on start *L*

Yeah I think we just had a misunderstanding. From the beginning, I thought you meant that there was a way to recreate the old battles, i.e. you see a monster, game does its weird morph thing into battle, then turn based battle starts. Guess I was wrong.
But yeah, if you put it on wait it isnt that bad, you can then switch gambits, decide on how to battle, switch dudes etc.

Is FF12 any good? Iv been goin back and forth wether to buy it or not. Cuz its kinda pricey. Wish PS2 games would go down now that PS3 is gonna be out in couple of weeks. Should be $29.99 or $39.99 at most but not $49.99 anymore.
But i saw on jadiums that it works on usbextreme so i might try that but the CG scenes would be choppy and i hate that.

The main new features
The gambit system are upgradeable "AI toggles" you can turn on and off,AI toggle meaning when X happens Y will follow,this thankful can be turned off.
this was created and I say that in the (lossiest term possible) for FF to become a live action RPG with FFlike rules,unfortunately if I want a bad RTS game I will go and buy a bad RTS game....
with menu wait on and gambits off its more like the old turn based FFs.
with gambits on it basically fights by itself you can adjust what gambits are active but still...they have lost sight of quality to go wonder off in this direction....

yea i read on the psp thread sony is charging $15 for a PS1 game emulated on the psp. FF7 is on the list im excited for that.

Last ditch effort to save the PSP...if sony would let people convert their PSX games to the PSP now then things would be more interating!
