Hey All,

I've only seen 1 post thus far saying that the movie HITCH will not even be recognized in their COMP. DVD and well I'm having the same problem. I have a DW-D22A Sony Dual layer. I've looked around and have no firmware updates for it so I guess either it's unsupported or it's up to date. Anyhow when I stick the movie in my drive it just cycles and then nothing. ANY help would be greatly appreaciated.

BTW in some of the earlier posts I read off topic discussions on DVDFAB and I'm gonna add my two cents. DVDFAB is a lot like Xcopy but I've found problems with it burning BE COOL and had to resort to the big guns of Dycrpter and Shrink. BUT FAB is still a great tool and get's the job done most of the time!

Thanks in Advance!

let's, at least something cleard, "hitch" can be back up and burn, the protection in it might be difficult to break, but it is doable.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

Thanks everyone for the response. I ended up doing what elizerroj posted. I closed AnyDVD and used Decrypter. I then used my favorite burner. As far as Muchu's posts, I always try to backup a movie as soon as I buy it and bring it home. I used to buy music Albums and I grew up making a backup on a cassette the first time I played the record on the turntable. The record would degrade more and more after each time you played it. I know DVDs last longer but I don't take that chance. Thanks.

==================================

The copy protection on "Hitch" is no different than the copy protection on any other disk. I just used DVD 43 to copy the files to my Hard Drive, and had no difficulity. If your drive won't read the files, you have a BAD DISK. Take it back and get a different one.

After you have the files on your Hard Drive, the only thing you might have problems with is the number of garbage files that were written on the original disk. But, even those are easy to deal with if you use DVD Shrink and eliminate the ones you don't need.

All in all, it's a very, very SIMPLE disk to backup.

I'm also having problems w/ Hitch.

I'm using Intervideo DVD Copy 3 w/ Region Free+CSS.
It showed that it copied the movie fine but, when playing it back on PC and Standalones the movie plays the previews fine.

When trying to watch it,it wont play either selected scenes or it won't even play the movie itself @ all.

was thinking about giving AnyDVD and Shrink a shot or, using DVD Decypter w/ shrink.

Haven't used them in awhile since I heard Decrypter was going under.

This is how I did it. Ripped it to hard drive using DVD Decrypter using ISO format. Then used Shrink to take out the crap (I only use the movies no special junk) then burn (although I dont burn to a frisbee its the same process). Hitch has bad sectors on the source disk so you need to just read the files and not the sectors as I suspect your program is doing. Shrink and Decrypter are free to download here. Use them write back if you get stuck again.

If your running out of memory are you sure you have enough main memory and enough hard drive space. Even though you might have copied it to your hard drive Shrink needs working room to compress the file before the burn so make sure you dont even try to copy unless you have about 10GB of space free. As for the person who has problems with 38%? Did you try it again? Do you have crappy media? If you think this might be the problem work with an DVD-RW disk then you wont waste disks while working out the bugs.

Can DVD Decrypter or DVDFab Decrypter be used with DVD X Copy Platinum (v 4.0.3)? If so can someone tell me how this process would work. I tried to backup HITCH with AnyDVD v.5.2.4.2 but I was unsuccessful.

I used DVD Decrypter with DVD43 running in background. Then use DVD Shrink to create ISO image. Burn image with DVD Decrypter.

I'm sick and tired of all these DVDs from Sony Home Video having all these problems with the public, like you, not being able to burn a copy. You have Forgotten, Resident Evil 2, Are We There Yet? and now Hitch. What's next???

I have read all the threads and tried all the programs and Hitch still wont burn.

it wont even run on my computer. what i mean by that is when i hit play movie on the root menue it does the window to the black screen, then the movie is supposed to start, but it gets stuck at the black window. it will work fine if i do scene select and go to the first scene. this occure on both my dvdplayer and dvdburner using PowerDVD to run it.

I have tried the following. Dvdshrink 3.2, Newest version of AnyDVD and dvd clone2, dvdx copy platinum, dvdxRescure, #1 dvd ripper. Nero. They all have an error between 12-20%.

Im stuck from here

i got that DVD Fab Decryptor that some1 posted earlier (thanks alot BTW) , ripped to my hard drive then i used clone dvd to compress and burn (dvd shrink still gave an error).

for some reason and for some people even after decrypter rips this movie to the HD some programs still get errors. i believe some programs have more powerful ripping capabilities than others, take for example intervideo copy 3, it did such a great jod on this movie from the hard drive, no erros,30 minutes process. i try other programs and they did not do as well. i would try IC3, 1click dvd(this one did a good job) and even a dvdxcopy program (they are good rippers).

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

I seem to be having a different problem with Hitch.

I decrypted w/ DVD Decrypter and then used DVD Shrink to only get the movie itself, then burned the ISO with Nero.

The problem is that I get NO sound when I play the burned disc in my Playstation 2!

It works fine in my home DVD player (Panasonic RV-31) though and my computer as well.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Should I try a different decryption program?

Thanks for the help!

Had to use DVD Decrypter 2x to get a readable ISO, but it worked eventually and seems to be burning okay with Shrink.

Did you guys notice that Decrypter is no longer being updated? Sucks.

Howdy all.

I, like many here, cannot get the combo of DVDDecryptor and DVDShrink to play nice. I successfully Decrypted HITCH to my harddrive, both as an ISO, and again in file format.

When I attempt to open the ISO in DVD Shrink, the error I get is "Invalid IFO Filename".

When I try to open the VTS_01_0.IFO or the VIDEO_TS.IFO files, they launch okay, but after 5 seconds, I receive this error: "invalid nv_pck: nv_vobu_ea"

Any suggestions both welcome and appreciated.

@mikearama - for the files created in file mode, try vobblanker (free)

@everyone else - can't answer the other 400 posts re Hitch, there's far too much going on here, i think some of you guys need to look thry ALL the replies and try a few things out. This film really is no big deal, DVD Decrypter latest (3.5.4.0) should be sufficient all on it's lonesome
