If I encode a movie with TmpGenc The audio and video will usually be in synch. Im talking about movies with ac3 audio here which is demuxed in virtual dub mod......The problem arises when, for quality reasons, I try and render the video stream in CCE Sp.... The audio ALWAYS goes out of synch, by as much as 3 minutes. Now I check the frame rate of the original avi using AVI codec and say its 23.976 I have tried every different combination of frame rates both PAL and NTSC but their is always a discrepancy...this dosent happen with tempgenc for example an avi file is 1:04:09 in length the demuxed audio is the exact same length but the CCESP MPV video file is anywhere from 1:01:03 to 1:04:05 never the same length.
What I'm askin really is there a formual to work out the correct settings for CCESP mpv file Thanks in Advance

Are they still out of sync after you mux the audio and video back together?

Yes very badly for the ones ive done 10secs or more
I see what your getting at Macc as someties the length of the file that you left with isnt actually the length it says it is (im talking about the time that dvd lab pro shows when its imported) What i would like to know is are there definate settings to use in CCE SP for different frame speed AVI files ex 25, 23.976 etc
when i use tmpg i mostly convert the files as PAL and they come out fine(mostly) but ive heard that CCE SP is a better encoder.
it just that with the extra settings on CCE there is more that can go wrong

OK, I see. My honest recomendation for converting AVI file using CCE is to use avisynth to change the framerate of the file to the framerate you're trying to achieve. This is the tutorial I used to learn how to do this http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=222898 . That guide tells you what you need to know.

There's really no easy to use GUI for using CCE, the closest thing would by Aviscript I suppose. Aviscript creates an avisynth file for you, and an .ecl file that you can import into CCE and basically start encoding. I reccomend that you learn how to use Avisynth though, its worth it. CCE is worth it too. It is the standard after all. :)
