DVD Shrink does not read DVD's

I just installed Shrink ( I have DVD Decrypter setup and working). BUt when I put in a movie to rip, it says no dvd found. I open dvd decrypter and it works fine. I guess it's a setup thing? I went through the setup manual on the Doom site. Any suggestions?

When you open up Shrink and click on Open Disk then are you sure you are opening up the drive that the disk is in???

If you are and that doesn't work, then try playing the movie with Power DVD or whatever dvd player is on your computer for a minute and then try to open it up with Shrink.

If that doesn't work then uninstall and reinstall Shrink.

Or Simply Rip the DVD with DVD Decryptor and then use DVD Shrink on the Ripped Video_TS Folder.....

The reason shrink is'nt reading is because that version was released ages ago and there has not been any updates to tackle the latest encryption on dvd's for a while now. The owner of the program has left and gone to work for Nero, so I have been told. You will either have to use DVD Decrypter or run AnyDVD or dvd43free in the background.

Glad someone great has gone to work for Nero; they seem to need all the help they can get these days. But, I digress..

Have you intalled Nero? I seem to recall that Nero might be a requirement to run DVD Shrink (if not, someone here will certainly correct me...LOL!!) As LABOY said, you have to select both your input and output drives in DVD Shrink. You many also need to check DVD Shrink's preferences (Edit, Preferences). On the tab labeled 'File I/O' is a check box for 'Enable burning with Nero'. I have zero issues with DVD Shrink, but I also have Nero and AnyDVD running, along with Decrypter and a whole host of other DVD rippers. I'm forever searching for the perfect ripper, which I think is the one that stays at least a step ahead of the latest tricky encoding...heh, heh.
