OK, sorry about that, I posted the wrong error message. I had one error log from before and after the Nero update and I included the first one. Nero has been updated and I have experienced the same problem. I just burned a DVD+R, of a free trade dead show, with no problems except that it won't play in the DVD connected to the TV, which does play burned media.

I downloaded the firmware update, TS10, but am not sure of how to physcally update the firmware. My thoughts were that I did it through my device manager, but I got confused once there. any hint on how to update the firmware (Update Driver???) please let me know.

-thanks

To upgrade your firmware you basically just need to 'flash' your drive.
Make sure all apps are closed, no discs are in the drive and there are no power interruptions b/4 running. Open and run the .exe file. Reboot - firmware should now be upgraded.

binkie7, what exactly does 'flash' mean. That is where I am confused. Is that the flash utility available at http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1911.

I'm kinda a newbie at upgrading firmware.

thanks for your patience

toaster, the file (firmware) that you downloaded, usually comes in a .zip format that has the .exe file inside along with a readme.txt file, read the readme.txt file. Then double click the .exe file. That should bring up the "firmware flashing" program and its pretty much self explanatory steps from there. Just remember to make sure there are no disc's in the drive, don't run any other programs at the same time, and make sure you reboot right after you flash it.
