ok, so i have got nero 6 (demo version) and I have dvd shrink (3.2) but when I go to Backup my dvd project (after I have re-authored it etc in DVD Shrink) it does not give me the option of using nero and burning straight to my dvd burner. Instead I have to copy a folder on to my hard drive and then burn it as a Data Project.
Can any of you help me with this, it is driving me crazy (and the quality of the dvd's is crappy...they always sart skipping in the last 15 minutes of the movie...AAARGHHHH!)
Much appreciated...

first open up DVD Shrink then click edit/preferences/File I/O/check enable burning with nero/click ok.
Then do your normal editing, then click backup/select backup target/,hit the drop down menu and choose/burn with Nero.

U might also be burning too close to the edge of the disc. Try setting the target around 4300 especially if ur using a lesser quality disc.

go into Shrink's settings and make sure that the enable burning with Nero option is checked. I ran into this problem too. Also media quality is very important as well as burn speed. Keep burn speeds 4x or less, even if your media and burner are rated to burn at warp speed. And do what btitus said about changing compression to 4300 MB.

i tried opening up Nero first and making sure it was set to dvd (is their a particular option under this I should try??) but when I then go into DVD Shrink and re-author the dvd and click backup there is still no option under select backup target to burn using Nero.
there must be some simple reason for this but I am damned if i can work it out. thanks very much for your help so far...

In Shrink go to your edit tab, then preferences, file I/O and then check enable burning with Nero

If you still cannot get Shrink to recognize Nero, then try uninstalling ane re-installing Shrink. Shrink should then hopefully pick up Nero.

the way I've understood it was ... Nero has a free 30 day trial. You just have to download the new trial version.
ie. let say the trial version starts every first of the month. If you download it on the 21st of the month you'll only have a weeks worth of that trial version. You will have to download it again at the first of the month.

that's an interesting way to do it... I've been messing around with the Nero trial at work and all the computers say that the Nero trial has expired. That was yestereday (the 1st) so flip's point would maybe explain that. Maybe I kept downloading June's trial.

I use Nero 6.3.1.0 that WAS a trial version whan I got it, But I have a few serial numbers for bought versions.
An odd thing happened, I was upgrading a client's Nero, he had an earlier version, and I wanted to up him to version 6! So, when it came to updating the files, it asked me for a serial number, and I just used his serial number.
But when the program started up, there was NO Burning Rom! Most of the features of 6 were there, but it was ALL Nero Express.
This kind of puzzled me, but I decided to enter one of MY serial numbers. Then the interface changed to the compleat Nero program.
Also, I just bought an AOPEN DUW-1616/ARR, and so far it kicks arse... The versions of Nero that come with the Unit... Are these Trial versions, or Real Versions? I have a stack of these Nero Install CD's but I never use them cos I have my own version that I like.
