I have 350 dvd and the collection is getting bigger by the week, I have 99% originals and 1% others
600 cds and thats growing too
I had 1,500 video's but there starting to perish now with damp bugs getting into them as there not played as much so trying to get on dvd
And around 500 cassettes
The guy at our local film rental shop even asks me if i have got a film b4 he gets it in and is it any good
I had forgot to count all the box sets of DVDs
I have all the csi's and csi miami box sets, the alien box set, the star wars box set, all the 24 box sets, the crow films, and loads of other boxed sets
So if i have to include every individual dvd then i have over 450 maybe even 500

Just in case anyone is interested that storage system ended up costing less than the storage binders (Wallets) I was keeping them in before
1ea ? 4 Drawer dresser from WalMart = $39
32ea ? Brass ?L? brackets .09c ea = $2.88
16ea ? Craft wood from Home Depot 18? long by 3/8? thick by 4? high 1.12 ea = $20.16
1bag - Bag of wood screws ¼? long 100ea. = $2.20
So all together it cost $64.24
The binders I had them in were at least twice this much? Just wish I would have done this sooner now I have a bunch of empty binders laying around
edit I forgot the sleeves for the DVD's were $20 for 1,000 from here http://www.diskpro.com

@bbmayo, that's a great idea. I was keeping mine in the binders in alphabetical order (well, somewhat-just by first letter) so I could find what I wanted easier, but that's starting to become a real hassle and it's hurting my back lol. I'll have to try that method.

Yeah the problem with the binders for me was trying to get the kids to put them back in alphabetical order plus you have to move everything around a lot if you want to keep it that way. This way it is really easy to find and put them back :-) along with the DVD Profiler proggy that JimDandy (thanks) suggested to me about 4 months ago storing has become so much easier. It took a little time to get them all right and uploaded into DVD Profiler, but now that I have had them this way (about 3 months) it has been a breez :-)
I actually thought about this in another thread about 4 months ago was something simular to this and the person paid $300 for something like that and it didn't hold nearly what this will hold about 600 comfortably in each drawer so you could store 2400 in this dresser easily. It really has made a big difference because now I am not spending an hour or more looking for a DVD and yelling at the kids about where they are.. LOL
Cheers

That really does sound like a good idea, then you dont have to throw around those big heavy binders,I can handle them, but my wife struggles with them.
As for the dvd profiler, its a great program.
I not only like that you can upload your entire collection on a website for safe keeping, but you can just type in an actors name, and it comes up with all the titles that actor is in.
You can also sort by genre, just choose, action, adventure, comedy, drama etc. Then all the movies that fit that particular genre are there for your choosing.
Geez it sounds like I get paid to promote dvd profiler dont it? LOL

yup bbmayo you have def. got the best way to store them . and its a much better system than the folders since there standing up ,they will last much longer that way . the binders you have to be carefull flipping though pages not to damage them plus the weight of them all being stacked, may consider doing the same thing as you . but i only have about 300 at the moment
