What's the reason to change? Does in not work anymore?
Another very similar program is Nero Recode. If you have Nero installed - perhaps you already have it.

Dvdrebuilder I think will eventually take the place of it. Its harder to use and you do need a decrypitor but the quality of it is much better

i use Shrink like there's no tomorrow, Decrypter for the odd film Shrink doesn't handle, and Nero to burn. I only ever do movie only as not interested in all the padding you get on DVDs. I don't feel the need to try anything else yet, and if i did want to i've got a wealth of info from afterdawn members to search thru; or i'd not try the other programs myself, and just rely on others' experience with the other progs by reading about them instead.
I mainly buy older films i've missed over the years, so Shrink will see me thru for a very long time to come, eventually i'd buy AnyDVD i guess..

I did buy AnyDVD and it was the best 39 bucks I ever spent.
I figure I'll be using Shrink and decrypter for a very long time.

Shrink's ability to handle the newest encryption methods may be getting outdated for a few movies. However its ability to compress and reauthor has not diminished at all. For me it is the program of choice primarily for it's ease of use. Decrypter is still working fine for me for the occasional film with structure protection.

I agree Recode2 is very good and faster than Shrink, also CloneDVD2 will encode, is also fast. You can use it with either Decrypter or AnyDVD as a combo.

When you download Nero 6 Ultra Major update, Recode2 is part of Update-Package 2. I don't see the Recode 2 program under "programs" but I can open it by using Startsmart.
I found the program under Programs\Nero\Nero Digital\Nero Recode.
I guess this is a good time to add a Recode shortcut...

Or download the nero digital update(contains recode2) then pick up a serial on removed

Bear in mind that Recode does not decrypt so don't expect it to read an encrypted movie.
A very excellent combo is AnyDVD with Recode. AnyDVD will run in the background and the movie will appear non-encrypted to Recode.
This is my favorite method.
