so a lot of dvd's i backup will show a "english 5.1" audio track that will already be unchecked. sometimes it will have 2 "english 5.1" tracks (i suppose one being dts and the other just dolby digital, but i don't really know). anyway, i just assume that the ones unchecked are not available, so i don't recheck them before i back that dvd up.

lately i've watched bourne identity and the client and both of my backed up copies only had 2 channel english, and no 5.1 at all, and that doesn't seem correct. so i'm guessing i probably should have checked the 5.1 box?
it seems weird to me, though, since the box was never checked in the first place, meaning, as soon as shrink loads a file, the file will have "2 ch. english" "2 ch. french" checked, and then sometimes have the "5.1" box unchecked (i never uncheck the 5.1 box, only if it's already unchecked).

all audio tracks are available, I think there's a setting in the options for automatically unchecking some audio boxes (DTS never comes up checked for me).

well damn, that sucks for me. i guess i lost a few 5.1 tracks on a couple of movies just because i thought they were unavailable by default.
