i bought Nokia 6230B from Dallas, Texas, USA
Network provider is Cingular, US.
IMEI : 355032000098099
I want to use the phone in india. But it says "Phone restricted"
How to unrestrict it to use it in india?
Please can u help me.

I have a locked Nokia 6230 on Orange in the UK. Need to unlock it for my travels.

Can anyone give me the code and tell me how to do it? Am an unlock Virgin.

Instructions:
Remove SIM card and turn phone on.
Enter code (to get p push * key 3 times,w push * 4 times
'SIM restriction off'= successful
'Code error'= failed
'Can't undo restriction'= too many attempts
After 5 wrong attempts phone can only be unlocked via cable.

Hey everyone, looks like a real useful service being provided here! :p
I have a Nokia 6230 phone from UK on Orange network that I want to use in Canada, once I unlock it, will it work on any gsm network?!
I'm completely new to unlocking, so just a quick question if you don't mind, i see sometimes there are several codes made, are we just supposed to try all and see if one works?
Also, I don't have a sim card with any service here yet as I was waiting to unlock the phone first, should I go out and get one first before even being able to do anything?

If your taking your 6230 over to Canada they work on 1900 Hz, your 6230 is compatible as it is tri-band but if you use a UK operator sim you will basically be roaming on the canadian network. It is cheaper to get a PAYT once your there (if staying for any lenght of time.

Unlock instructions for those who have had codes provided:
Usually you only have to use code 1 or code 7.

1. Press ( # ) on your phone
2. To get ( p ) press ( * ) 3 times within 1sec
3. To get ( w ) press ( * ) 4 times within 1sec
4. To get ( + ) press ( * ) 2 times within1sec
5. Enter the 15 digit code
6. To get ( + ) press ( * ) 2 times within 1sec
7. Enter code number (Check this before you go to next stage)
8. Press ( # ) on your phone
If the code you enter does not work displaying 'Code Error' please post your request again or send PM.
