first time DVD shrink user - everything ALMOST went perfect.

Ok, so I decided to back up ONE of my movies - for the first time - everything looks GREAT except for the fact that a couple of the features do not work. I believe it's two bonus features that won't play - you can tell my dvd player is searching for it - but then it just stops. I looked at the file it created on my hard drive and it plays fine - it just won't copy to a dvd-r. i'm using a Taiyo Yuden disk, and I burned the folder with DVD movie factory from ULead. I'm trying a different brand of media - maybe that's the problem??

Any suggestions?

so I tried another brand of media and all went well...I'm going to try to copy this disc to a Taiyo Yuden and completely bypass copying from the hard drive - if this doesn't work - then i'm sure it's a media issue I guess...

Taiyo Yuden is a great media and not the cause of your problem. More than likely it is your Movie Factory program. I think you should try burning with DVD Decrypter.

Shrink can be set to open Decrypter at the correct time automatically. You don't have to open it at all. Shrink will do that for you. It is a setting you make in Shrink after you select backup. Under "target device".

By the way DVD Decrypter can burn DVDs as long as the files are compressed with Shrink or some other program.

thanks for the suggestion, however, if it isn't the media, why would it burn great on one disc, and not on another? would my authoring software do that?

i'll try the new software though.

OK, so my direct dvd-r to dvd-r copy worked GREAT - so I wonder why it didn't copy to the Taiyo Yuden disc perfect from my hard drive?? I should also mention that it was a Memorex dvd-r that worked. Very strange .... maybe I just had one bad Taiyo Yuden in the batch...
