My dvd does not play after a successful burn process. I used the latest nero, dvd shrink as well as dvd decrypter. Followed the user guide instructions for dvd shrink and dvd decryptor. I am trying to back up a movie I just bought, The aviator. It was burned in iso mode. DVD decrypter burns it in iso mode. Checked drives, the are all set to DMA. Any suggestions!
What kind of media are you using, did you set your target size to 4334 in Shrink, what speed did you burn at, you need to keep it down to 4x? Also is your firmware up to date for your burner?
i had the exact same problem...using verbatim, 2x write, target size was 4300. It all started after i tried to burn the movie Closer. after that failed with an I/O error, everything since then finishes the burn process successfully, but won't play on my player.
I set the target size to 4200. Speed is running at 2x. Firmware is upto date on the drive. The dvd's I'm using are a no name. I just pick up what ever is on sale. I haven't had a real problem untill now. However I haven't used dvd decryter for that long either. The instructions pertaining to DVD Shrink say to keep the compression level at 70%. I am unable to do that. I use about 51-55% compression. If I use compression at 70% I need 6 or 7 gb of space. I am using single layer discs. I am finding errors in the iso image file that DVD Shrink / dvd decrytor made. I think when I burn the iso, the burn process is successful. However if there is an error in the iso image file a successful burn will never work! So How do I make sure I get a error free iso image file from dvd shrink/dvd decrytor. Why do You need a image file anyways?
I believe the iso image file is the problem for non - readable discs. How do you insure to get a clean error free iso image file? I believe riddle29 also has the exact same iso problem. Please advise.
i am new to the whole burning thing myself.i don't mess with the iso,i always backup in file mode and use Nero to burn.i havent made a coaster yet.just a suggestion.
I wonder if you have tried to rip the Original DVD to Files, then compressed them to an iso using DVDShrink. If you have, then just ignore this message. So here it goes again. Using DVD Decrypter > File mode, then using DVDShrink > Open files to convert to ISO, then burn using Nero. I think there is an option in DVD Decrypter to burn right after converting to ISO (using Nero). I hope this can be helpful. Good luck!
Thanks for the instruction. I changed the setting in DVD Decrypter from iso to file. Now when I run DVD Shrink with the decrypter option, the dvd is burned in the correct file format. Problem solved!
This is another great example for all to see why I suggest to rip in file mode. I know some other members here would argue with me, but I have seen this time and time again. When you rip in file mode with Decrypter it always seems to come out better ;-) Just wanted to imphasize that...

No argument here, I always rip in file mode and have not had a problem getting through the rip. Only time I use iso is if the file is under 4.3g or doing a dual layer.
