I'm trying to get as many episodes of a show as possible on a single disk. They are in AVI (XviD Mpeg 4) but I want them to be playable in any DVD player and perferably more than 3 shows to a disk which is all Nero will let me do. Can DVD Shrink help? Anything else I can do beides double layer? Theos disks cost so much.

Change all the ?????.AVI files using VSO's DivXtoDVD. Then put them into shrink that should make them smaller

Sounds good, but the description says there is no menu creator. How will I navigate through episodes? Or will I have to just watch one after the other?

Have you tried praying?

A DVD can only play for so long, around 2hrs or so, in a normal household DVD player.

If you intend playing the DVD on a PC however you can get away with murder. Just create a DVD mixed format Disc with Nero or suhin and copy the compressed DivX files etc onto it, playback what you like.

DVDr disc = 4.35GB
1 x Crappy quality South Park RMV (Realmedia Video?) = 30-35mb

4350 divided by 33 = quite a lot of episodes.

Maybe one day, standard home DVD players will be able to cope with DivX avis etc.

Haven't tried a Data DVD in my Hitachi DVD player, but it plays VCDs and SVCDs so who knows will need to try that.

I like to create a product that plays in anything you fling it at, ie a proper DVD or an Xbox, so that I can make a fiver here and there.

Are Microsoft not adopting DIVX as their new format? Most amazing quality > compression ratio i've ever seen.

I must just be a compulsive liar, I HAVE tried a DATA DVD in my Hitachi, combination of AUDIO Mp3s and Mp4s, didn't recoginise the Mp4s however. Who knows with AVIs or MPGs.....

Sorry about the edits during your repies m8, I have been accused in the past of spamming by simply replying to people.

It gives me a headache going through edited stuff arrghhh!!!

Unless of course you are Japanese and read stuff backwards....
Maybe thats how the the Japanese are so clever, they know what to do before they do it and don't make any mistakes 'cos they have tried it already.

Confused?

I am....

1. Downlaod VSO DivxToDVD

2. Put all the .AVI files into it and Convert them.

3. Download DVD Shrink

4. Put the files into DVD Shrink and shrink them

5. Then put those .vob files into Nero Vision Express which is reccommended by me or you could use TMPGEnc DVD Author or a menu creator.Them two programs I mentioned cost but you may find them floating around on P2P or Torrent Sites.

6. Don't buy a new PHILIPS dvd player when you can do it that way

7. Enjoy the film

Easy right!

Cool but still 2hrs max approx per DVD for playback in a "Normal" DVD, so why spend hours fannying around when WINAVI can do the above automatically to DVD ready format, only for 2 hrs mind....

P2P and Torrents are like playing poker with the devil. You will never get really what you are looking for and when you do get it FIRST, at a decent quality, you will get a knock at the door saying "Hello, turn round and take your trousers down while you get shafted up the SH!TEPIPE as an example to others"

Remember, never share.... leeching is a religion (bomb free)

I would like to know where you get the free version of the vso software. I downloaded it from the software section and it is a trial version. Went to their web site and that is all they have there also.

There was too much childish abuse in that PM,

"J-Kwong" whos he?
Can't you read?

@ black_Ice, I agree with you, manier people on this site may overshadow my knowledge but Bawjawz here wasn't talking the wisest of words look back at some of my previous quotes. Yes i do remember been a 'newbie', and i was inquisitive as a newbie not cocky!

It wasn't harsh at all, Bawjawz shouldn't be telling other newbies that P2P and Torrents are no good and not to seed, everyone has there own opinion on them.

I Don't show respect to anyone who is talking crap and saying there ideas are better than mine (without any proof).

But i do show respect to people asking for advice and are happy to receive it.

yoruai sorry about Bawjawz interfering with my help he did apologise in his PM he sent me.

@ J-King

Lol.

You know everything then?

If I need advice from you J-Kwong I will ask for it specifically.

And I spelled your name wrong to wind you up, hehe.

Each to their own.

Stick to P2P and Torrents if they work for you.

What does P2P and Torrents have to do with the solution to the problem anyway?

Keep praying to yourself Master J-Kwang.

Oh and check the specs of my most ultimate system, much better than yours Master J-Kong.

Sorry to clog this thread with childish responses to a backwards thinking moron.

I will not say another thing on the matter.

Heres what P2P had to do with the solution to do with it
