ok gocubs01 let me guess you are trying to rip w/dvd shrink a compressing&encoding app while you have one of the best rippers in front of me say it ain't so just making sure you are using the decrypter for decrypting
I get this impression because first you say it happens during encoding then you say during burning but you mention no errors does decrypter do your burning if so and you are getting that far please include that log just copy and paste if it is shrink that is giving the problem let it run it should give you an error before it just gives up please include that error
good luck
peace!
also slow down speed does not win this race the further you go past 4x the more you are going to be back asking what happened w/ this title or that title I personally have never burnt faster than 4x and only then because that is the lowest acceptable speed for my media

Sorry for the mix up, I am using decrypter for decrypting and I get no erorrs when using decrypter, then I close that out and use shrink to compress and encode, my burn setting will go no lower than 6x, when it freezes it locks the whole pc up, it will just sit and never give an error message.
Correct me if I am wrong, It cant be the media because it doesnt finish encoding, I would get an error when its writeing to the disc right?
Thank Again, T

are you using the open file feature in shrink and not the open disc this sounds similar to shrinks reaction to copy protection that is un breakable w/ shrink dis able the burn @ once feature in shrink as there might be aconflict in your settings there what are you using to burn w/ as the default destination might not be correct for one
as shrink does not burn any thing whatsoever it will not let you set burn speed this is what confused me in the first place does the encoding finish when it freezes up does it ask for burn speed (nero or decrypter) if so it is not frozen the other app is doing it's thing)
I don't mean to be short w/ you it's just early and I am headed to the coffe pot to try and clear this fog (glad there is the edit function sometimes)

Morning, I am not using the open disc or open file feature, I just use re-author to locate the file, and choose title 1, I get the freeze in the middle of encoding it does not get to the part to write on disc, Before shrink when decrypting I usually create a folder to put the files in, did Hotel Rwanda and Johnson Family Vacation just fine this morning, still cant get Coach Carter or Diary of a mad Black Woman

to make sure the files are not corrupt try to re-rip w/ decrypter if there are no errors you can try an app like cd check or similar I will give you the link can you watch the files on your computer? I would definately try the re-rip and give the open file in shrink a go just to test a theory as this is how I copied both titles no prob's.
here is the link http://www.elpros.si/CDCheck/

I don't see the need if this is a commercial dvd but you never know this might indicate some prob. more likely the file will show some thing due to variable reasons I have never had the need to use this app to actually repair any files or disc images (knock on wood ) but I'll tell you like I was told if you have corrupted files that can be repaired this will do it
this was more an option that I was throwing out there incase you no longer had the original.
again the first/ easiest solution I would try is the open file method
