I have a Nec Nd 3540a drive and I'm using sonic DVD-r 8x media when i use DVD shrink it burns at 12x and i don't know how to change the burn speed in DVD shrink. When i burn files already on my PC with Nero it lists speeds from 2x,4x 6x,8x,12x. Any help would be appreciated Thanks.
okay I have asked this same question many times...
When u burn with shrink after it first checks the movie (not sure of the word) u click back up a tab folder will come up with options go to "Burn Settings" tab and gp down to burn speed this hsould allow u to change the speed.
I use verbatim DVD-R 4x discs.
not sure if that will help but I can only try.
if all else fails someone will give u better advice
if Justice05s advice doesnt work then simply save the shrink files to your hard drive and then burn with Nero as usual, but set the speed in Nero, or if using decrypter, then tell shrink to save the image to the hard drvie and then burn with decrypter, and change the speed manually.
@tony476, I have used shrink in the past and following justice05 advice is exactly what I have used in the past and you can adjust speed, determine what prog will burn the files, or if you want to save to HD and burn with Decrypter(ISO) or Nero (ISO and regular Video Files). Lately, I have noticed that the NEC ND 3540a can burn at a variety of speeds as compared to the SOny that I also use. It is the SOny DRX 800UL and it is awesome, yet on certain media it will only give two-three options while NEC offers several other burn speed options. No complaints, just interesting how each burning is different.

I have also had a few 8X disks that did NOT have an 8X write format on them, and no type of Firmware up-date changed that - the disk manufacturer just flat lied..
If you do NOT want to burn at 12X (for some strange reason of your own) simply adjust the burn speed of Nero before you use DVD Shrink.
Personally, I always burn at the TOP rated speed contained on the disk. I have never had a bit of trouble doing that, and I always apply printed Paper Labels to my disk before I burn them.
In my opinion, burning at speeds lower than the one the disk is rated for is just flat ignorant.. But, then again, others disagree..
