Hi, for HD Advance 3.0, during gameplay how do I switch to a different game without having to restart the ps2? Anyone know the released date of HD Advance 4.0?

I owned version 7. I used HD advance 3.0 the Japan version. I think it's not copied because i used it without a modchip.

The simple way to do all....
To install to the PS2 HD just attach it to the PC as a slave drive, and install the game via WinHP. works 95% of the time. Requires tweaking of the settings for 100%.
To copy the games. Just use DVD Decryptor. (Final) given it's exctinct now jus use the latest version you can find. Select
Read ISO. and burn an image to the PC, then Write ISO to put it on a DVD. Not suer if it requires an aditional burning programme. I have Nero 7 + Roxio Suite installed.
For DVD9 discs (8.5gb). The only way to use the backups on the PS2 as far as i know is using HD Advance 3.0 installed on the PS2 HD.
Version 2 is the most common on the market, but i found HD Advance 3.0 online close to me, so i grabbed it and it allows detection of HD's upto 220gb. And the only version that recognizes DVD9 burnt games. The settings are different (not the usual 3) but the first 3 settings are the settings from other versions. and usually the only ones you need.
The beauty of HD Advance. if you have an earlier version isntalled on the HD, all you do is put the newer disc in, and it reports/acts as if you are using that version. without losing any games or anything.

Let me rephrase the question. Will this work on a slimline (v12-v15) PSTwo or will it only work on a fat, earlier model Playstation 2 (v1-v10)???

well in reply to the post about a slime line --hd advance will work on a slimline----but the point of a slim line is ---where the hell do you put the hard drive and the network adapter to power it up
so the u need the fat old one-----unless the slimline has a usb that yopu hook up to a external harddrive with its own power source---and i think u need the program usb advance not hd advance

Yep, you would need to use USB Extreme with an extrernal HDD on a slim line PS2. However, I don't think USB extreme is compatible with a lot of games, check the list on www.ps2hd.com.

as far as i know, there is NO PLACE like home... wait. my bad. there's no place on the net that i'm aware of that will let you download HDA3. you should try to just get the latest fully patched """HDLoader""". you can find those for free prob'ly at afterdawn, but i know definitely at www.exploitstation.com and www.ps2hd.com

you would need a modchip in it that allows you to use one of the DEV modes that allow for booting without a CD. and that's the only way i know of. if you suspect the laser is broken and the tray doesnt move, you could check one of those DIY ps2 sites (dont know of any right now) to get info on how to fix it.

i c
what is DEV mode? i don't know what mod chip i got cause i got it second hand, and the other guy doesn't know either
do all mod chips allow you to go into the DEV mode?
i know that for mine in order to turn it off I have to hold on the reset button while it's botting up for 10 sec
and under the Playstation logo it doesn't show anything

i dont know exactly what it is because i dont have mod chips. and NO not all mod chips will allow for DEV mode. check those other sites for information, you may find something useful about modchips there.
