Hi,
I'm Tom.
I use DVD Shrink to backup my DVD's, and I have always used a Pioneer DVR-107D using an IDE interface.
Now I've got the Plextor PX-716SA DL, which uses the SATA interface.
With both Burners, when I select backup, I get to the Burn Setting's tab, which I select Maximum, for speed. And then below speed, is this
other stuff.
(Now this is where I get confussed)
Using the Pioneer Burner with the IDE interface:
This box is checked.
|+| Book type DVD-Rom - The entire line is not highlighted.
This box isn't checked.
|_| Burn at least 30mm (DVD+R/RW high compatibility mode)
The entire line is highlighted.

Now using the Plextor DL, with the SATA interface:
Should I check this box?
|_| Book type DVD-Rom - The entire line is now highlighted.
This Box isn't checked.
|_| Burn at least 30mm (DVD+R/RW high compatibility mode)

I'm just a bit confussed here, and want to know if I should place a check mark in the box next to (Book type DVD-Rom)?
I know you never want to check the other box:
Burn at least 30mm (DVD+R/RW high compatibility)

Can anyone explain to me what these two different choices are for, and when you would want to use them?

Thanks so much for your time in reading my question.
Sincerely,
