I have DVD descriptor and DVD shrink. plus nero install on my computer
I can back up all my DVD?s and has worked very well up in till now there seems to be a new type of protection out on DVD?s I don?t know how there do it. But it has stopped my from backing up my DVD?s. I have down loaded an up to date version of DVD descriptor that has helped I can now copy the DVD to Hard drive. BUT I can not get the DVD back on to a DVD R or DVD RW DVD shrink dose not like the new protection. On the back of the DVD?s case I can not copy. They is a pic of a cd over a cd with a cross throw is. Can any one put some light on this.

juboy neither dvd shrink or dvd decrypter update anymore .so i would try a different program to do the movie.(and what movie is it?)
my choice would be CloneDVD 2 and running anydvd in the background. this combo will do any movie out there.heres the link

Triple X does have ARccOS protection, but Ladder 49 does not. I backed up Ladder 49 using Decrypter and Shrink. But I always just do movie only. Just rip using Decrypter in file mode. If you still have a problem with this one then try cleaning the disk or getting another original. As for XXX State of the Union Decrypter is able to do this also. But you can try DVDFab Decrypter which is free, and available at http://www.filepedia.com under rippers. Or as borhan9 suggested you can get the 21 day free trial of AnyDVD and CloneDVD and try those out. Available from http://www.slysoft.com

I copied both those movies using DVDFAB decrypter and then burning to Nero with no problems at all. Both copies came out perfect. I did however have a problem burning them with CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD.

So far so good, I disabled DVD43 a few weeks ago. And then discovered that SHRINK ripps or decrypts movies on it's owne. I recently backed up "CRASH" to my hard drive using SHRINK alone and it did so with no problems. I don't know what encryption is being used but SHRINK handled it. I'm pro-SHRINK to Nero combo for backing up my movies and again so far so good.:)

@softman
The two programs that run in the background and break encryption are AnyDVD a pay program and DVD43 which is free. You open these programs and they will sit in your tray, they break the encryption and you can use other programs to compress and burn. Your DVD is seen as unprotected and those programs that do not work with protected content will then work. In essence you can run AnyDVD of DVD43 and then just open Nero and it will Recode and burn a movie, where it will not do so if it sees the DVD as protected.
