Hi Guys
I have been able to successfully decrypt and burn movies with Shrink and Nero. Lately, I bought a spindle of TDK DVD -R media which is printable. The movies seem to decrypt and burn fine but when I play them on my DVD player, the movie stalls while watching several times and the menu seems to hang to sometimes when I select play movie. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Could it be the media? Thanks

I haven't had alot of experience with TDK media. You should download DVD Identifier and post results here. It sounds like it's the media, though. After lurking here for ages and reading about poor quality media I switched to Taiyo Yuden and could not be happier!

@DCBob, Definitely check out your media. Dvd identifier can be downloaded here:
http://dvdidentifier.cdfreaks.com/
I'm like davidw001, I used TDK, but had some problems here and there...after listening the the team at AD I quickly found that Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim were my choice of media...worked in all players (even in my picky Denon 2200). Burn the files slow (4x or slower) it really isn't as slow as you imagine, and for +R media...booktype the media to Dvd-Rom. -R media seems to play in a larger variety of older DVD Players. If your dvd burner isn't capable of book setting, then see if tehre is a firmware update so that it can be.

Use dvd identifier to find out who manufactured the disc. It will give you an id for the disc that is easily identifiable. Lots of brands use inferior manufacturers such as cmc mag but sell the disc under their own name. I buy Taiyo Yudens from Rima.com. Just look in the dvd media section of the forum. Supermediastore.com and Meritline.com are highly recommended. Buy from one of these reputable sources and you will be ok. Stay away from ebay and lesser known sites, they will often sell fake Tys. You can't go wrong with the Tys!

dvdidentifier shows you info. about the media you use. Remember you want to use media that is manufactured from MCC, not CMC (this is bad media) some use it and claim no problems but the issue is also down the road. I can also back up any backup that I have thanks in part to the high quality media that I use. COuldn't do that with cheap media.
Hope this helps.
