Same problem as everyone else. My vid store releases 7 days before the chains start selling.
Dvd Decrypter couldn't handle the rip until I installed DVD43. Successfully ripped all files and opened files in DVD Shrink 3.2. Thats when all hell broke lose. Read all files and encoded super fast but movie starts at hospital sceen. I'm going to run it through my Wintv card and hope someone finds a solution. I own the disk as my Vid store guy sells them to me when he releases them so if I can offer any additional info I'll be glad to.

If AnyDVD has updated then they are on to something, they only start doing that when something is up.

@TDY

You can use the combo trial of AnyDVD and CloneDVD both are the fully functional programs and work great.

I suspect a good burner and a new disk help. I have had failures and later success with the same movie but a different disk. Maybe some of the better protection schemes are harder to crack especially if the surface is not perfect. I am sure the protection schemes can not be completely new otherwise old players could not play them. I often have trouble playing a movie that can not be copied. That is even more true now that I have a high end burner. The Lite-ON burner is WAY superior to my NEC. The copies made with that burner play better than the originals if the originals are heavily scratched. The lazer on that burner is less affected by scratches than even my good player. I always complain if a disk does not play right and I suspect the protection scheme was the major part of the problem. I hope that will add a little pressure against the newer schemes.

I really doubt that the problem here. Sony has been known for coming up with new types of encryption. I wonder if any one knows how to make PSL files and add them to the dvddecrypter. I remember UK lightning use to creat them for the old versions of dvddecrypter when sony would come out with new types of protection.

Here is a how to for creating your own PSL file for Decrypter, I have never tried it, there has not been a need for it yet, lol.

I will try and creat a psl file. The only problem I can think of is
last night I tried to import an old psl file and I got a pop up message saying that this version of dvddecrypter did not need a PSl and importing one might make matters worse. Has any one been succesfull????

I had no problem ripping the movie, Just have problem playing the burned movie, it keep reapeating a couple of scenes twice, like the beginning of the movie. I believe its a dual layer. it has an extra vts_1 of 3056mb of blank in the unreference material so there were no way of fitting the movie onto a 4.7 dics. I removed the blank vts_1 resulting playback was horrible it kept on repeating itself, but if i forward skip it it finally play thru the whole movie. Very complicated indeed. I used DVD Decrypter the first tried and didnt work so i use dvdfab decrypter and it works smooth. Maybe if i have a dual layer dics or is it double layer lol.. it would works well.

It will be nice if they crack it before Tuesday, at least it gives you another reason to buy the program if you already haven't. It was one of the best purchases I made.

Edit this is an update from ireland at Xcopy

Best I can tell you is to bundle up your ifo's and send them to slysoft, the last time this happened on a movie it took them several days to figure it out. But they did in the end.

Well actually i tried playing the burned copy on another player and the result was blank screen for around 5 mins of the beginning of the disc, due to the fact that i shrink the extra 3056mb of blank space in the unreference materials folder. But after that the movie went smooth through. I used Nero to burn and dvdfabdecrypter to rip. Now if i can remove that damn vts_01 of blank space instead of shrinking it the movie is fine. How do i remove the whole vts_01 of blank space? I dont know if you guys understood what i'm trying to say here..

Ok, I DID IT! I got a perfect backup of Lords OF Dogtown! Here's how I did it. Theses are just the versions I used. Get AnyDVD 5.4.4.1. Make sure it is enabled. Get DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 and rip the movie in FILE MODE. The get DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 and OPEN (ctrl+O--not open disc, not open disc image)and select the folder where you ripped the movie to. Then run DEEP ANALYSIS because the movie will be to big. For this one you will need to put your settings to DVD-5 not custom. then uncheck #3 under AUDIO (AC3 2-ch English 153mb). Then I created an image from that and burned it to disc with DVD Decrypter. Hope this works for everone, it did for me.
