DVD shrink won't compress

When I try to shrink a dvd the PC crashes. If the dvd dosn't need shrinking I can re-author it and extract the main movie and copy it to dvd no probs but if the main movie is more than 4.7Gb the shrink program will crash. It always fails when I get to the encoding stage. any ideas?????

have you tried to uninstall and reinstall Shrink?

I have tried to uninstal and re-install. I have the latest version (ver 3.2.0.15 I think).

Have you tried running the movie through DVD Decrypter first?

What are your PC specs?

Here is more info on your problem, go there and see if any of this fits your computer. Might be an overheating problem if your are running a laptop.

I have DVD Decrypter on the PC and I have been using it. The DVD Decrypter is has had no problems at all. I can use DVD Decrypter and copy the decrypted files to a dual layer dvd but I don't want to spend $10 per dvd.
