I have a samsung cd writer and a sony dvd writer.I am wanting to buy a dvd from america, now obviously america has a diffrent region than the uk. So my question is can i use dvd shrink to make the dvd from america region free so it will play on my uk dvd player.

yes.If you go through the process, eventually you will get to the screen below and then you will beable to modify the region code

Although, making it "Region Free" may be only 1 of your problems. UK has a different video format known as "PAL". Which will need to be converted to "PAL" before it will play properly on DVD players/TV's in the US.

Your best bet would be to buy a DVD player that plays both PAL and NTSC.

or also get a converter that will change it to PAL.
