I have no issues with Mortal Kombat Deceptions just yet. It's just a game I mentioned and one I just got my hands on to backup. Since the image is 4.5 gigs, I plan to rebuild this puppy.

Once the final image is created, I'm going to modify the DNAS300 file that I pre-extracted to a separate folder, then patch it with the disc ID number, then inject it into the final image.

If the game plays awful, I'll go back to the original image, inject the patched DNAS300 file, then burn it. I'm sure one of the two steps will be successful.

Okay how am I wrong when I said this is what I've been told. Just because this works with one game doesn't mean it works with all of them. It is common sense not to have an arse load of things running while burning a CD or DVD. However if you have a powerful machine, it wouldn't matter nearly as much. If you have 256 GB's of memory with XP, yes you're not going to be able to do much while burning. If you have a gig of reasonably fast DDR or DDR2 RAM, it's not going to matter nearly as much. I hope you're right about the dummy files. It means less work when rebuilding. Dummy files do help the game run smoother, but they can take up a huge amount of space. The PRIMARY reason for taking the dummy file out is so that a game will work with Swap Magic. If you have a modchip that supports DVD-9 games, then it's not necessary. You're generalizing alot, and that can be dangerous. I agree with most of what you say.

i downloaded this game from torrentspy, it was a very small file, even when burnt, it was no more then 1.5Gb's... Its NTSC so the first time i loaded it up with SwapMagic 3.6 it was black and white... then i loaded it up again with SwapMagic but this time changed the area where it says "normal" to "PAL" and it played in coloured! i was gonna patch it and reburn it but whats the point! just a waste of a cd! i guess i just have to keep remembering to change it to PAL in the SM3.6 Menu! =p

PS: The Game works perfect! seems cool =)
PS2: The Game Has a Dummy File, fortunaitly, my download was already fixed so all i had to do was backit up on a cd! =D
Peace...

F.T who i be...

Good Deal If you ever want to patch it, you can use the PAL2NTSC patcher with Y fix found here: http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=63489 You have to sign up with fileforums to downoload it. Here's a tutorial: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/121718

I was able to backup all games and recently Ultimate Spider Man, but this week i burnt like 8 or 9 dvds(i have a lot..just in case) of X-Men Legends II but no luck, the screen just goes black and dont know whats wrong.

Im using:

DVD Decrypter
Memorex DVD-R at 4x
Taiyo Yuden at 4x

SO this is the only game that i havent be able to back up yet.

First off ditch the Memorex. Try burning slightly slower or faster. From Steimy: have done Total Overdose, Hulk Ultimate Destruction,
Xmen Legends 2, and a bunch of other new games, only had to rebuild Total overdose. Try altering burn speed and using the Taiyo Yuden's and you should be okay.

I can only burn at 2.4x,4x, 8x and 16x not 2, thats why i pick 4x everytime, is the only "reliable" lowest speed, maybe the DVD-RW drive itself limit me to 2.4.

Okay,

You are ahead of me in X-Men Legends 2. I did a reburn of that game because I stuck a CD label on my copy. I think CD labels that you press onto the discs cause a dragging issue. It was the first of my 50 some games I've duplicated that I applied a stick on cover to.

In any event, I'm currently playing it, and moving right along in the game. When I get to your level, I'll post whether or not I got passed it. I'm buzzing at the moment with a bunch of beers in me, so my memory issn't the best, but I think it's online capable. If so, all I did was patch the DNAS file for the game, inject it into the original image, and burn that image at 4x onto a -R HP blank dvd disc.

I did a straight copy onto Verbitam DVD-R at 4x with DVD Decrypter and it plays flawlessly.
