hey papa_face lay off the guy after all if its on the internet it must be true
any of you other fellas think that anubis is a sony employee trying to get us off halo and trying to get us to buy the ps3. dude this is a HALO thread hence people on this thread tend to like the xbox so go to a ps3 thread... plz

1. I've already explained that I didn't mean any offense.
2. We've already gotten past talking about what happend. However youve just mentioned it again so we are talking about it, this is a Halo 3 thread you know.
3. They arent taking pre-orders anymore.
4. The release date was mentioned only because Sony's PS3 was supposed to be coming out on the 15th May 2006. However since then this has been proven wrong, hense Best Buy taking down the Halo 3 preorders.
OK can we stop talking about what happend and talk about something remotely interesting.

Yeah it looks like he/she's trying to get us off Halo, but I highly doubt that he/she is a Sony employee. Having said that I could be a Bungie employee for all you's know.
I've been thinking. During Halo CE Cortana says that if the covenant ever find out about Earth it will be the end of Humans. Yet in Halo 2 there doesnt seem to be much consideration for this. Earth is being battered by covenant forces, yet the MC leaves Earth. With the MC being a super-soldier it would make sense for him to stay on Earth to fight the covenant.
Also I havent heard anyone on this thread say "Why did the covenant come to Earth?". Thats a good question. We didn't actually find out explicitly, however the ending answers the question.

I found some random date that said Halo 3 would be coming out on October 5th 2006 or was it 2007 I don't know but either one sounds likly.
P.S where is a forum about Call of Duty 2.

i dont think the mc really had a choice in leaving earth they didnt know where they would end up and i bet they didnt think they would find another halo and plus the marines could easily handle the rest of the covenant
i have a question for you guys one the mission cairo station johnson says the cairo station is one of 300 mac guns orbiting earth but when you look out the window you see a group of three far off in the distance that just doesnt make much sence

The MAC guns would be very small in comparison to Earth so you wouldn't be able to see them. Also they would be spaced out quite a lot.

ooooo mac guns kick arse! they seem to own in the novels and i got a few questions. first is bungie dedicated to the novels storyline compared to the games. because in first strike they captured a covenaunt capital ship and cortana discovered that the cov's plasma weaponary was primitive compared to wat she could do wit it. plus wat about the other spartens that returned with cheif....um off the top of my head ..... Linda is still alive(for those who dont no they bring her back from lik cryogenic freeze etc.) um i think fred and another dude but kelly gets takin with this doctor hasley who hasnt ever been mentioned in the game????? so r the novels just extra fiction for fans or will they finally tie it into the game or atleast the movie if they dont use it for halo3. Ok my next question is that rumor and/or fact that says the prophets tell MC that the forerunners are humans who went into the future or somthin lik that and the cov were confused to find humans on Earth cause we all no earth is the central hub for the halos right? anyway i think all these unanswered questions can bring us into a deep discussion and forget all this nonsense.
ps hey guys i got a 360 and for all ur knowledge pdz aint really good at all....its just fun to shoot guys and peeps who dissed Quake4 r sooo wrong its awsome especially if u liked doom3 on xbox and its just alot of fun since u dont need to buy a $5000 comp to enjoy it and its on ur tv.

there were only 3 in that VERY SMALL section of space. keep in mind they were not that far outside of the earth. earth is HUGE so im sure around the ENTIRE earth there is alot of cannons.

and another thing i dont get is they said that the mac guns draw power directly from fusion generators buried deep in the earth i was just wondering how they actually get the power from earth to the mac guns u dont see any power lines or anything so wats up????
also you know the the fall of reach book they say that the mac guns can fire a round every five seconds what i dont get is when the covie attacked reach with the 20 mac guns there they could have fired 240 rounds in one minute into the covie fleet and absoulelty destroy it so y didnt they??????

By the way, he says the cairo is one of 300 Geo-Sync Platforms, not mac guns. And of course they wouldnt have power lines going from an orbiting space station to a planet, the mac guns use the ships fusion generators.

The space stations use orbital defence generators that are located on the space station. Every space station or platform is equipped with a super Mac turret.

dude read the books y did the spartans go down to reach to defend the power stations for the mac guns if they are on the platforms that doesn't make sense and in the first strike the admiral says the covenant will break through our lines land on earth and take out the generators powering the mac guns.
and i know there wouldnt be power lines going from the earth to the stations i was being sarcastic do any of u know the meaning of the word?????

What are you talking about nobody mentioned them apart from you.
Ok the space stations do have a generator on them, however they get their normal power from the generators on Earth. The "power" is transmitted up the tether of the space station.

MAC stands for Magnetic Accelerator Cannon. The 20 on Reach were called Mark V's, which reloaded every 5 seconds. The MAC guns in the game Halo 2 (i.e. the 300 geosync platforms) are more powerful, thus requiring more time to reload. Each are 'geosyncronized' above a
certain city,(meaning they follow the exact orbit of the earth, allowing them to stay at a fixed postion above earth)
the city they are named for, like Malta, Athens Station, and Cairo Station

soo does anyone think the other spartens will be introduced in the game fiction or mabe theyll use it for the movie script or somthin....but none the less they should adapt some of the freakin book fiction the books ruled. Yea and bout the cov fleet attackin earth they said that this stations mac gun (the cario's) could punch a hole right thru a cov capital ship. And there are other ai then cortana who could accuratly fire a shot takin down a cov capital ship (atleast the book says there is more ai but who knows.....it would just make it easier if they add all the book fiction!) >_<
So when the cov attacked earth they should have been anihilated but then again thats like taking Superman's powers literally like sayin o well superman should be able to do this. So thats y the mac guns didnt just anilahate the cov its for the story and it would be way too easy and stupid for them to just blow the enemy away lik that.

I'll explain yet again about the story that is being covered in Halo the movie
There is going to be a bit about before Halo CE. Which means that they are doing a slight adaptation of the Halo book Fall of Reach.
After they do this they are then moving onto the story that is depicted in the first game Halo CE. What isn?t yet known, or rather what I dont know is, how they will end it. Presumably with the Halo movie coming out in 2007ish Halo 3 will have been released and so the ending of the Halo story. Therefore it opens up the possibility that they will tell the whole story in Halo the movie.

well sorry i didnt really read the posts bout u explainin the movie but thanks cause now i no. Soo anyone think that theyll finally use the other spartens and if soo that means in coop that it wont be 2 cheifs. And if u play coop when ur the arbiter i hope that its not 2 arbiters....i hope its like another elite or better yet that elite commander in the white armor would be cool

You will almost certainly not play as any other Spartan other than John. The Arbiter was risky enough for Bungie, I doubt they'd take an even bigger risk by making the player share their interests in at least 3 playable characters.

o yea papa i didnt mean another playable character i just meant like when u play coop and ur the cheif and ur buddy is say um Fred (hes still alive right?) so when ur in a cut scene both characters can interact i didnt mean u no lik a speperate story for each. And for the Arbiter everyone already knows the Elite in white armor with the battle scars soo he would just make it soo thers not an extra arbiter

I think them as nonplayable characters would be good.
The Arbiter will make an appearance as a playable character. Why? Because if Bungie takes him out it will appear to the fan's as though they were owning up to a mistake. So naturally they will have to include the Arbiter, not for the sake of Halo, but for the sake of Bungie. Half-Jaw (the white elite I think you were talking about) will most defiantly make an appearance.
