i think you all should wait on the live chat for now and wait till about 3-5 months becfor the release so there will be things to talk about the whole time.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

As for a fake Halo 3 trailer, that's actually a pretty good idea. I don't have the tools to do it myself (at least not to make it look convincing) but I'm willing to help with ideas.
My 2 cousins are a}a movie making genious and has several programs, and b} my cousin is a computer programer and can mod xboxes and such himself, i'll see of i can output something decent, ive got nothing better to do this summer besides basketball =/.....also

I believe Bungi has announced it's working on campaign like bots for the multiplayer kinda like MOF Rising Sun (I think like 64 or something crazy), or has been leaked, also playing as a grunt would own! }8) Also it would be sweet if you could battle as a hunter.

Life isnt't worth living if you don't have fun with it.

The only way that playing as anything other that Chief or an Elite would work is in large mulitplayer battles.

Although Brutes and Hunter are strong, Drones can fly and Jackals have shields they are all very easily killed and this wouls balance it out somewhat in mulitplayer battle. They could work as a sort of backup infantry.

And about the ideas of Bots, that would be very cool. If you dont have Live and nobody else to play with in mulitplayer, bots would be agood idea but would only work if they could be programmed to be super smart. Noone wants to play with a dumb AI

the time travel theory, though confusing does make sence in a way. I was just playing Halo ce on the two betrayals level and as I was watching the cutscene the monitor said

343 GS-(after explaining to the chief how the Halos work) "but you knew that already, I mean how couldnt you?" goes on to say "you were with me each step of the way as we managed outbreak procedure" continues to say "why would you hesitate to do what youve already done?"

the way the monitor speaks it sounds as if someone identical to the MC is who activated the Halos last. Or it could be a case of mistaken identity.
Something that nobody seems to be mentioning is that Guilty Spark (and Penitent Tangent and the other Monitors we haven't seen yet) is verrry old. We know that UNSC AI's have a life span of only seven years. The Monitors were created a long time ago, and could definitely be malfunctioning/have gone crazy. If that's the case, then we really don't know anything about the Halos, the Flood, the Ark, etc. Who knows, the Halos might not destroy any sentient life. Maybe there really is a Great Journey and the Covenant is right.

Bots are okay, but they're not going to be as fun as playing with real people. But I would like to see a class based MP game with all the races available, each with specific moves and skills. If they were going to do that, though, they'd have to still include the regular Halo 2 style MP as well to quiet the whiners.

Quick survey: how many of you have xbox live and would be willing to do it that way (the live chat)? If everybody that wants to do it has live, there's no reason not to use it.

Well I wouldnt coz I dont have XBL. Also not many people would want to talk to someone (verbally) it would get boring because people wouldnt know what to say. Text chat is much better.
As for the monitors they are rampant. 343 atleast, the way he sings and mutters words is a big indiction. Cortana does this to on one of the Halo CE levels.

Well, for the people that don't want to speak verbally implies that they are kinda stupid; i.e. the info they put out isn't really coming from them, it's coming from some other source that they don't really understand. If your ideas are coming from your own mind, then you should have no problem expressing them verbally. Voice chat allows for a more clearer understanding. Intended meaning can be lost when you type something as opposed to speaking. I personally feel that a sort of Halo roundtable with some knowledgeable people would great. Oh, and I would highly recommend you get XBL. You obviously have Halo 2, don't you, which means you would have to have an Xbox. Any Live subscriber will tell you that plugging your Xbox (or 360) into Live is even more important than plugging your PC into the Internet.

But back to the Monitors (Guilty Spark especially) it is very interesting. So do you think that we can trust any info that Spark has given us, or could the truth about the Halo universe be very, very different? I could see it going either way, but personally I'm leaning towards the latter just because it'd be a bigger surprise and Bungie A) Likes surprises, and B) Doesn't put in little details for no reason.

There is such a thing as shyness.
Anyway. No I think that everything that the monitors tell us is true. The ark for example. Are you saying that he is lying. hmm, its to big to be lies.

I'm not saying he's lying intentionally; he could just be malfunctioning, i.e. he's got so much info stored and he's jumbling it together. Obviously the Halos are real, but he may have gotten their purpose mixed up with some legend stored in his archives. And the same for the Ark and other stuff. We don't know because all the info about the Halos has come from GS. And we have yet to see one fire, so he could be wrong. That'd be a big-time surprise to find out that these rings you've fought so hard to keep from firing don't really do anything. Obviously the Flood is still a threat; maybe the Covenant's Great Journey is the way the Forerunners escaped the Flood. Remember Gravemind said something like "This one's containment and this one's Great Journey are the same" when he had Penitent Tangent, MC, and the Arbiter. I assumed that meant that the Covenant's Great Journey wasn't true, that firing the Halos would kill all sentient life, but maybe the Great Journey is the only way to escape the Flood in the sense that leaving this universe and ascending to Heaven is the only way of escaping the Flood. Hope I wrote that clear enough; if you need me to, I'll rewrite it.

I just thought of a theory reading attenuate's last post. Something similar to this might have been mentioned, but I dont really remember it, so here it goes...

Assume all the monitors we have come in contact with so far are really getting all the information stored in their memory mixed up, and that the Halo rings dont actually just destroy everyone. What if the halo rings, once activated, transported everyone within a certain distance (or everyone in general) back in time, which would make sense once you think about it. 343 Guilty Spark recognizes MC, which would mean that maybe he saw him in the future, when chiefs armor was the standard (or something like that). Everything, including the monitors, was then transported back in time. Since the halos general purpose is assumed to be to stop the flood, going to a different period in time when the flood are not released could be an escape.

Just a little idea I had, and figured, what the hell, you guys have fun going through a bunch of theorys and playing with them. Tell me what you guys think.

Hello, since I have the domain Halo03.com and Halo03.net I have decided to dedicate them to a Halo03/Halo community. Would anyone be interested in helping to get it off the ground. Things that would need doing include submitting theories, wallpapers, videos, fan fiction, and posting in the forums when I get them online.
Let me know. PM me please.

...as for cortanna being infected, as stated in the 3rd book of the series cortanna's programming degrades over time as do all a.i.'s programming (remember 343 guilty spark?). well that could have been cortanna degrading and dieing... actually i think we can count on a cortanna death scene... as well as listening to/seeing her degrade as she tries to help you.
sorry that just made more sence after what u posted haha

also i think i remember an interview (on the special edition disc?) about characters or something where a bungie guy stated that 343 guilty spark actually was a degrading AI.

Sounds somewhat plausible; the only real flaw with it is the part about the armor. In the book The Flood, in the part where MC is fighting through the Library with GS, GS mentions to MC that he should upgrade his armor to at least Class XII and that MC's current armor is only Class II. So this indicates that MC's armor is outdated compared to what GS is used to from Reclaimers.

A big clue in figuring everything out is deciphering GS statement to MC that went something like "But you already knew that, right? I mean, how couldn't you?". Is GS just crazy? Was there someone like MC that was previously a Reclaimer? If we can figure out that quote, we can basically figure out everything.

ahaha what fanboys you all are :P
ah well its not bad, halos fun.

i wonder if making an mmorpg of halo would work and be fun. i doubt it cuz then there would be too many mc's running around. maybe if u take place of the military, or you can be an elite. like living the halo scene real-time, and over like a year one team controls more and the other fight back to take it.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

If they came back in time, and obviously didnt bring their technology with them (or else the humans would have no problem defeating the covenant), then the Class II armor chief was wearing eventually became class XII, and then when the time transport or whatever happened, it was lost. <--- Good luck trying to follow that :)

No, I actually see what you're saying. That makes sense, but I hope that's not true just because I don't like stories that have some time travel twist.

As for a Halo MMO, here's what I posted in another thread:
Quote:
The game that could never possibly happen due to so many reasons (budget, time, disc space, etc) but would be absolutely incredible is a Halo MMO. I mean completely create the entire Halo universe - every planet, star system, and everything else. You start out in character creation, pick human or covenant, then your race, then your job. Every human in the military would start out a soldier, and only the very best would qualify for the Spartan program. And all battles would be iniated by users (whoever is playing as a General or a Prophet). You could have space battles over a planet, and down on the planet is a full scale war with thousands of combatants. The possibilities are endless. You wouldn't even have to join the military. Be a pirate, like the ones in the Fall of Reach. Of course, you'll have less support and have to buy your own ammo, weapons, etc (or you could just steal them). Scientists could work on developing new weapons and vehicles. Basically whatever you like to do, you could. And include on each planet a training complex that you could go to and play some old school Halo multiplayer to get better or just have fun.

I know what you mean, but it just complicates things. Coz then you could just say that Halo had 33.333* words, then Halo 2 had 33.333* words and now heres Halo 3 with the other 33.333* words. :)
