Calm down, it's only a game. Just trying to clarify because you said something initially like it was a fact and not speculation.

Never said you were. And if you look back, you'll see that you've already referred me back to your theories, which I have indeed read. And if you look at my posts, you should notice that I too am an avid fan. Oh yeah, and in your extra long theory, didn't you say that evidence against helps you make your theories stronger? Just trying to help ;) So is your theory that Cortana has become infected by Gravemind (if so explain how it's possible to infect non-sentient life) or that it's her copy in High Charity that's causing the problems?

No, Bungie have already said it will be story driven, so there wont be much freedom in terms of the story line.

hey guys i just finished watching the trailer and it seems to me that if indeed cortana is infected as you said Papa_Face she almost seems to be trying to convince the cheif that she is not a threat by saying stuff like " I know you, your past your future" almost soothing him by the way she says it.
as for the missions i hope they contain huge battles between the humans and covenant.
Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity but I am not so sure about the universe.

Hey everyone, I've read a few hundred posts here and especially the last one got to me. It seems that almost none of you expect the covenent and UNSC to join forces. IMO; expect it.
In the video, none of the banshees were attacking MC and he didnt look worried about them either.
P.S. if any of you have read the three Halo books, you should know whats up with Cortana.

thats a good point warrior30 i never really thought about it but on the other hand they might just be in a hurry to get to the ark and didnt think one man was much of a threat to them.

It is possible that at some point Cortana has aquired a program derived from the forerunners that can extend her lifespan indefinetly. The moniters are a form of forerunner AI and they have been alive for billions of years.

The forerunners made the Halo's. Also the A.I's (monitors) have only been on the Halos for about 100,000 years, I dont know where you got billions from :s (1,000,000,000)

Possibly. We don't know for sure. As for a human-Covenant alliance, it could happen, but only with the Elites' faction in the Covenant civil war. Personally, I hope it doesn't; fighting with some Marines as MC against Elites, Grunts, and Jackals is the essence of Halo. The other stuff is great, but if Elites ally with humans, you wouldn't kill an Elite in H3 (cause the Arbiter wouldn't have any reason).
Even the books do not specifically tell us what's up with Cortana. They mention some clues (as we've been discussing the past 2 pages), but there is no specific evidence. As for her being infected by a virus, that would have to be an amazing virus to infect probably the best, most secure computing device ever.

Yeah but you forget... the covonant have their very own "cortana" like A.I.s governing their ships. What if one found Cortana.... or vice versa.

I think Cortona will ally with the covenant and give them new and unbeatable strategies so that they can beat the humans and MC and you have to travel to the "cortona supporting" ship and destroy it or something like that

------what the readers know is that there are more spartans. If they are to show up, it is now that they should do so to help MC in the *guarenteed-to-be-awesome* battles
I believe Spartan Kelly would prolly be the one to show up in the game.

Yes, there are more spartans. A big clue in the trailer is the flashing light on the MC. In the books that flashing light repesents a signal going out to all the other Spartans to relay information. It is a very subtle flash which can be seen just as the banshees go past the MC (very hard to see)

thats just the reflection on the bypassing covonant ship. The light indicating team chat is a small red blip seen on the inside of his visor. But yeah, like i said, the extra spartan is a huge possibility!

Trust me its there. I dont even think the Spartan we see is the MC because (unless he has had it upgraded) his armour is green not white/silver. Just an obvervation.

in the book it syas there are five spartans that could have survuved and how could that not be mastercheif because if it was a different sparan how did he get the upgrades
