and also: the 360 forums need more stimulating topics like this one, other than all the hack threads

Does anyone think Cortana will betray the chief? Personally I think Miranda will.

Well, this is gonna show my knowledge of Bungie and Halo in general but... In 2004 in the E3 trailer documentary I think it is Jason Jones described a scene that was to occur in Halo 2 (obviously it didnt). He said something a long the lines of "One of the worst scenes of betrayal is when Miranda straps a bomb to the Cheif back".
Now why would he say that.
At the time he said it we were not aware of who Miranda was, and I think this quote just got forgotten, until now :D

Nah not really, Ive always been aware of that quote but chose to ignore it. Miranda is a fine captain and has a huge reputation to live up to. If she was going to betray the MC in Halo 3 should would have to have a damn good reason to. In the interview it was also said that Jason was going through a breakup at the time when he though of that, it probably wasn't ever really even considered.

Yeah, I remember reading that somewhere, however there seems to be a lot of emphasis on Cortana betraying the MC, it would be a good twist for Miranda to do it instead.

Yes.
She is becoming rampant.
She would be nearing the end of her A.I lifespan anyway if she didnt go into the Halo mainframe in Halo CE. But her access to information increased the rate of her rampancy, therefore it is quite likely that she will betray the chief.

Sorry, but...
The reflections on the glass on outskirts don't match the surrounding area. It looks like buildings. They probably took pictures of their surrounding area because they were lazy?

In the Book of Ghosts of Onyx, Deep Winter the SMART AI, his lifespan ended, and he didnt go rampant, so why would Cortana?

Because she was supposed to be disabled a long time ago. They have a "life-span". Once it is reached they are usually decommissioned. Cortana hasnt been.

i think that like the prophets will capture Miranda and tell her if she helps them then she can become a god, too (with the prophets) and if she becomes a god she can bring her father back to life
((and also cortana says in the first book that MC was her job now and she would do anything to protect him))

Yes. However that is before she got an information overload in the Halo mainframe. There was so much information in Halos computer that she had to compress the information to stop it from damaging her.
