@dvd_craze, I found my firmware upgrade for the 800 ul not at a specific liteon site, but I forgot were I found it. I will check and get back to you.

@creaky, I just appreciate you and your knowledge. no problem and I'm personally glad you are that quick. But I do have a Quick ?Is my Sony a rebadged benq? If it is then would I set the booktype in Decrypter and now ImgBunr to the Benq? Am I making sense I just work up from a nap, I had a long day...glad it's friday. I grabbed the firmware update I believe from Sony, but maybe that limited the burns on the Sony, with certain media to 6x, 8x speed. What are your thoughts?

@dvd_craze, that is one reason I couldn't respond to the request because I was using a firmware update from sony. Glad creaky came to my rescue!

@moviedud

YOUR sony is a rebadged Liteon, MOST Sony from 800a- down to the older models (sony dru-720a, sony dru-710a, sony dru-700a, etc) are rebadged Liteons, only the newest one, the dru-810a is a rebadged Benq~ :)

using the Liteon booktyping utility will enable these Sony drives to booktype~

@kivory666, that would be awe-some...my PDA is the Toshiba e740, which is one that enabled the user to use both SD and Compact Flash...but having the wireless net at your fingertips would be awe-some and to be able to do what creaky can do! Have a good evening and weekend.

lol, my Blackberry is excellent for replying to posts from my Inbox (but if it's logfiles i can just about reply, i forget the content of the logs as i use the wheel to go back and forth thru the log, i'm a bit scatterbrained). but it's pretty useless for googling or anything else as it takes too long and scatterbrain kicks in far too quickly. plus i don't use it for looking for new posts as it takes too long. but when i go wandering around of a lunchtime or whenever, it's handy to be able to use, keeps your mind busy by replying to nice short threads.

i mainly started using it for post replying as my firm is getting very petty about internet usage. i'm still fighting it each time it's brought up as a Techie that can't research stuff online is not a very efficient Techie but all the bosses see is a weekly report with creaky at top of the list over and above everybody else by like 30 hours or so cus their crap software counts one webpage click as one minute's use. Which is where the trouble comes from, obviously forum posting is a constant click-click-click exercise for cross-referencing posts, googling for clues, editing etc etc.
