Hello, I use dvd decrypter and shrink together. I have run into a problem when I want to back up a disc such as family guy w/ different episodes. When I do it they all seem to run together with no way to navigate. What is the best option to choose, when I use the edit tab? When I try to back up the whole disc it says that it can not back up vob files or something like that. Thanks ---zen-->

What is probbaly happing is that Shrink cant compress the disc enough in 1 pass to compress it to a DVD5 disc.

Options to get around it:

split the episodes up.

Example: if there are 4 episodes on each DVD then choose 2 of the episodes and then back that up.

Doing this you will not have a menu you will only have the 2 episodes on the DVD.

After you burn that disc, then open up the same DVD and choose the last 2 episodes of the disc burn that disc.

You can choose what episodes to do by choosing the diffrent titles in the list when you re-auther the DVD. it should have 4 diffrent title files.

If you want to make it a complete disc with menus and all episodes then you can:

Burn it with a DL DVD if you have a DVD-DL burrner

or

Run it threw DVD Shrink twice. Compress it down as low as shrink will let you the first time then reload the new compressed DVD files into shrink again and then let it compress it down to the DVD5 disc.

Some will say not to do it this way due to the quility of the DVD being degraded to much. But I have done this and it has worked with very minamel degrade quility.

Thanks Rotary, That was my origanal question. So their is no way to keep a menu with shrink. No way to navigate, you just have to guess where you are. I quess I will just use my old dvdxcopy on those. I hate having to sit through all that s**t at the begining but oh well, thanks to everyone who helped. ---zen-->

hi

i would load each one separatly to TMPGEnc dvd author then make your own menu - easy to work app TMPGEnc dvd author

then you have 4 episodes with a menu

when you get clever you can use parts of film clip in menu link (brill) even thebackground can be video with sound!

bloody good app i love it!

Nothing here to see, move along folks.
