Hi, i have been using dvd shrink to back-up my dvd's for a while. The whole process of backing up a dvd takes about 60 minutes, is there a way to make dvd shrink faster or is there an alternate program that is faster.

The encoding part of dvd shrink takes the longest.

Encoding time is dependant on a lot of things, CPU size, Ram, the size of the DVD, whether you are using quality enhancements or deep analysis. Shrink is a slower encoder you can try Nero Recode2 which is basically the same program as Shrink only much faster. Or CloneDVD will encode and burn once you have ripped your files first with DVD Decrypter/DVDFab Decrypter or if you use it in conjunction with AnyDVD it works the same as Shrink. There is a 21 day trial of these programs from http://www.slysoft.com

Check and make sure your drives are still in DMA mode as this can cause a slowup to. Here is a guide

dvd2one is shareware but is quicker than shrink. Try it out.
