Help Dvd shrink will start after I install it but wont start after that

Have you tried un-installing the program under add/remove programs in windows? Then try re-installing. When you say it doesn't start again, what kind of error do you get? Any more details would help.

It doesnt say anything it just shows the hourglass for one second. tried reinstalling doesnt work still

I am thinking maybe you got a bad download from somewhere else?? It should open up. Are you starting it again from a shortcut or going into run programs and starting from there? Sorry, i am just guessing as to possible fixes. The only time i have ever had a program act like yours was when i downloaded a corrupt copy of software and tried to execute it. If you got a successfull install, Shrink should be under All Programs>>DVD Shrink>>DVD Shrink 3.2. I added a shortcut to my desktop also. I can't think of much else to do other than un-install and re-install like you did. Anyone else got any input on this?

installed it again and worked but when I restart my comp doesnt work I think it has a virus type thing in it

Ooooh that sounds bad. I try to do a complete system scan once a month, and my anti-virus updates automatically. There are many nasty things out there in web world, and it is pretty easy to get infected if you are not careful, and even if you are, in some cases. I have McAfee security running, and it has caught trojan web sites, and stopped bad emails. Mine isn't free but there may be free anti-virus programs out there. I think there is even an free online anti-virus scan at either nortons or mcaffes web site that will scan your computer for viruses online and report/fix them. I am pretty sure it was a free service. Find out for sure if you have a virus, as you want to get to that thing right away and kill it.
