I recorded and encoded minidv on my PC to burn on DVD (using WinAVI and NERO) the files are kind of big if I encode at the highest quality. I tried shrinking these files with DVD Shrink, but couldn´t figure it out, can this be done? Thanks in advance, ohh, this newbie is only at this stuff since about 2 or 3 days.

DV from a digital video camera? Unless the files are VOB, I don't think DVDShrink can handle it. If you still have the video on your camcorder, you could retransfer the files

Thats a good guide for the basics of connecting your computer to your camcorder and what to do with the AVI output file to convert it into a suitable file for burning, etc.

to put video from mini dv cam i use pinnacle studio. the files must be mpeg2 to mpeg4 to be put on a VCD of SVCD or dvd
