westy37,
Welcome to the forum. Shrink has 2 errors codes like that but the last part is different. Is the last part " Parameter is incorrect" or is it " Invalid Handle.

Looks like the movie came to you encrypted. Look inside the Video_TS folder and you should see .ifo files , .bup files and .vob files. Are those files present. If they are then you need to use DVDDecrypter, or DVDFAB Decrypter to rip the files ( all of them ) to HD and then process them using Shrink. You can also use AnyDVD along w/ Shrink to do the movie also.

thank you for your speedy reply but the error message that comes up is only what i put in my first post it had neither of the errors that you suggested, the video ts does contain vobs, bup and ifo files.
i then tried dvdfab dycrypter and tried DVD Shrink again but got the same error message

westy37 ,
Then the film that you d/l'd has a bad parameter as the .ifo file does not correspond to the .VOB. or there is another error to the structure of the DVD that you d/l'd You might have to use IFOEdit or vobedit to correct the file that is in question. But I have not used those programs in ages. You might try and d/l it again and see if you can get a good copy.
