Hello, I am trying to back up High Tension and I am still having problems, I originally used DVD Decryptor and that failed, so I've started using FabDVD, That worked great. Now next problem, the files are to large it says to burn in Nero or CloneDVD2 so i opened DVD Shrink and tried writing the files as an ISO. Now when DVD Shrink tries to open the files I get this error.
"Invalid Data In File C:/Document and Setting/Underground Trash/My Documents/HIGH_TENSION/VIDEO_TS/VTS_07_1.VOB"
"Overlapped I/O Operation In Progress"
what am I doing wrong? This is the first film I've had any real trouble with.

Delete those files lets start from stratch.
Rip with DVD Decrypter in file mode.
Main Movie or Whole movie, which ever you prefer.
I use main movie only because you get better quality, faster encode, from shrink and you use less hard drive space.
Open files in DVD Shrink and it will auto adjust everything for you.
Now you can customize what you backup to DVD. I only keep mani movie and one audio channel ACH 5 or DTS5. This gives you near original quality. If you just have to have the menus go for it but my back ups are for my kids movies so shes happy if they just play.
Hope this helps.

Well my original problem is that DVD Decrypt Won't even process the disk for some reason, I get a bunch load of errors everytime so I hade to take it into FABDvd and that ripped it fine. But I've gone ahead and deleted the old files and starded fresh, made sure everything was updated that could be, and I still get the same error code when trying to Take into DVD Shrink.

Go into the prefs menu of shrink and uncheck the box dealing I/O overlaping. See if that helps.

"Overlapped I/O Operation In Progress" Indicates that there is a problem with the disc. You might try cleaning it and making sure there are no scratches. If it does it again then take it back for exchange

Just a quick question here Car.mike if she ripped already with dvdfab or whatever why would that mean the disc is dirty (DVD-/+R), I could understand that in the ripping phase but the movie is ripped she just can't shrink it because she gets the I/O error please explain.
Thanks Bud

I think what happened is that she ripped with DVDFab Decrypter and then deleted as suggested in earlier post, then tried with DVD Shrink...which is not good with scuzzy discs.
Rerip with DVDFab Decrypter...then open DVD Shrink/Open files...look for your movies video_ts folder and open it. DVD Shrink will encode the movie, then you either make a full disc backup with all the features or backup (reauthor) the main movie only.
Hit the backup button and select backup target:
ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter.

tdisom,
There is a bad spot on the original. Now a DVD-Rom or a DVD Player will usually read through the error but a computer that reads the info gets confused because the error shows up in the encoding. In other words " Nothing is matching like it is supposed to".
When you do a DVD you have .ifo files ( information about the DVD structure- Brains of the DVD) .bup backup files of the .ifo and .VOB files which is the movie and the audio. A scratch or bubble in the disk can then cause the computer to go into a meltdown and thusly you get an error. But if you view ( te original) you wonder where is the error because you do not see the error. I hope I explained it so you can understand it

Most of the error codes in Shrink are on the Shrink site in a list. This is a very good spot to look should you have a problem using the program but most of the members here at AD can usually answer the question. If you need the site addy PM me and I'll send it to you

I guess I should have real the original post closer...

Looks like the bad file is that VTS_07. DVDFab may have ripped everything but that file...I had the same problem with The Grudge and couldn't get around it. You have to have that file to continue. Sorry.

Newbie on this forum. I have read through a few about errors with shrink. Is anyone using Intervideo burning software? It will compress your file onto one disc. But if that VOB file is damaged I dont think my idea will help. But if you have to use dvdfab, and it does'nt fit onto one disc even when you rip just the movie only, you can use Intervideo dvd copy and it will compress similar to shrink in movie only back-up.
Final thought. Watch the movie first and then don't worry about burning it. I thought the ending just screwed the movie.

I am assuming that is what they wanted me to do with each thread I replied to rather than giving a hyperlink?

I've tried all the above mentioned short of finding the error codes on Shrinks website, I went ahead and took the DVD back to Best Buy yesterday for arguments sake and their out of copies so now i have a freakin rain check, lol. I'll let you know my status on this when I get another copy here in a week or so.
