I actually found the solution to my above query, and it makes me so happy! For anyone else having similar problems, just delete all the files that are in E:/CACHE. That subfolder is apparently a temp folder that stores things that could potentially foul up gameplay on some games.

Ok guy I don't know if this has been posted before but is there a way to restore you xbox to the way it was before getting it mod I use Unleashed x thank you.

WOW ok i have tried a bunch of crap and i still cannot open dothalo!!!!!! i downloaded the .net thing right off the link. when i push the download button it says open file with .rar_auto_file or sometin like that or save to disk. when i save to disk and i try to open it it wont open and i have to select a program from a list and nothing ever works help please?

--HALO 2 MODDING WITH A SOFTMODDED XBOX QUESTION--
My xbox is softmodded so I can't copy all of the halo 2 files with dvd2xbox. I've read it is fine to just copy the maps only using FTP. So I made a folder in E:/games/halo 2 on my xbox. Now, how can I run my halo 2 modded maps? Replacing the maps with modded ones in my E:/games/halo 2 folder does not do anyting. Do I need to create another folder? And how do I run my maps when they are on my xbox? Through my dash, coldboot, dvd2xbox?
Any help would be appreciated.
I was playing Halo 2 matchmaking team slayer and my teammate said "I think there are 5 of them".

Ok I'm wanting to start modding on Halo 2, the bad thing is I lost my memory cards, So Is there a way to directly connect to the xbox from your pc and put the linux installers on the dashboard without the memory card?

ok i downloaded my .net framework the new one but i cant open the page page to download dot halo so can some one send me a link for a different dot halo older or new doesnt matter plz send me i need to mod im a 31 in Team Slayer but i cant get any farther because modders standbyers delevelers so i gonna mod to get my 50

1.)First, you cant mod without putin the files on to ur hdd.
The only way i know of to restore your hdd is to put the files back onto ur xbox with auto installer after you backed them up before you modded or with softmod installer 2.0 which gives you the option of backin up your original and modded files before you install the dashboard.
2.)You cant mod maps without them being on ur hdd.
3.)You can find moddin programs at a4h.us downloads section. there is a program with all of the moddin tools.
4.)DO NOT ASK HOW TO GET ONLINE WITH MODS WITHOUT A CERTAIN MODCHIP, ONLY FEW PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO USE THEM WITH A SOFTMOD SO IF YOU TRY GOIN ON LIVE YOU WILL BE BANNED FROM MATCHMAKING OR FROM XBOX LIVE ENTIRELY. Use XBC or Link Kai they are good but get laggy sometimes.
5.)You cannot put all of halo 2 onto your hdd you can only put the multiplayer maps or single player maps you must chose the maps. Use Craxtion 4.0 to rip them to your hdd and ftp them to your xbox. craxtion.com
and there are a lot of tuts that explain how to ftp modded maps to your xbox.
6.)Halo maps wont fit on a memory card.
7.)halomaps.com had very good maps but i think they shut down, a4h.us has good ppf files. they WERE seen a lot on LIVE b4 the patch came out.
8.)To mod your xbox it is easiest to use softmod installer 2.0 it has a tutorial to use Splinter Cell, Mechasault, and 007 Agent Underfire using Action Replay.
9.)You cant directly connect your xbox (ftp) to your xbox without it already being modded (softmod or hardmod)unless you get the usb connector from lik-sang.com.
10.)Most likely you wont find any 1 who mods on xbox live who wont be banned within an hour, and most will be asking for a 2-month subscribtion card(I should kno i got 3 accounts banned).
11.)FTP - this is when you connect your pc and xbox via a router to transfer files to your xbox. There are programs Flashfxp, cute ftp, smart ftp. Flashfxp is the best but cost money, you can also use internet explorer (with the help of tutorials)or Mozilla Firefox with the FTP extention.
12.)And finally you cant mod your way up to level 50 you will be banned in atleast 2 hours (30 min if you go into Matchmaking)

I have a modded xbox, i have an FTP connection, i downloaded .NET Framkework 2.0 Beta 2 (the one you gave the link to) and i downloaded DotHalo. But DotHalo won't work, everytime i open it, is says "Application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the secutity policy.To grant this application the required permission, contact your system administrator, or use the Microsoft .NET Framkework Configuration tool." . I couldn't find the configuration tool/ it doesnt exsist on my PC, Can someone help me with this. Thanks!

I just recently downloaded dothalo and copied halo 2 to my xbox harddrive and i am able to ftp files back and fourth from my xbox to pc, but for some reason i can not load Halo 2 from my xbox harddrive. It loads to the screen where it says press start and when i press start the music stops and the whole thing locks up. I tried deleting it and recopying it but that didnt fix the problem. Ever since i have done this i am also no longer able to play halo 2 using the cd. I get to the same screen and it does the same thing when i press start. What would cause this problem?
