hey dude need some help with soft modding like if there a way to quick turn them offf so i can play matchmaking without moding but play customs while modding, i ahve action replay and have one softmod but its more of a hinderance then a perk because i cant play matchmaking wihtout the risk of getting the level i ahve the mod for. your help would be greatly appreciated

i have all the programs and stuff...i am a nooob.... and i have a question...
with the FlashFXP...when i type in my xbox IP...it says connecting then it says there was a delay and waits 120 seconds...then it tries again to connect...can someone tell me what im doing wrong here...?
i dont know how to connect my xbox to my PC...do i need a specific wire or something?
the directions in the tutorials that i have looked at so far are not clear enough so im really confused

no i dont know actually know if you can turn the mod on halo 2 off without overwriting with the original map, however if you plan on going to halo 2 xbox live even with out mods on there is a extreemly high chance of getting banned. so i recommend that you either get a new xbox and then play online (xbox live) but if you are aching to go online use the software that i posted in the first page, it should be at the bottom.

alright nahid965 i understand your problem cause this happen very often, make sure you have these before you FTP
1. a network crossover cable
2. flash fxp (working)
3. xbox(modded)
now step one is to change the network setting on the xbox, so go to the network setting on xbox and change the setting from static ip to DHCP, then restart your xbox. after that connect your xbox to your computer or you network hub if you have one ,and see if you get something like this (not exactly but something LIKE this ip) 192.168.1.6, if you get some thing like that then u finished step 1.
now step 2 is to configure flash fxp, so once after you connected your xbox to the computer and get an ip(on your xbox read step one), go to
connect (it is a lightning symbol on the flash fxp) and go to quick connect and type in the exact ip address on your xbox, then for username and password enter in "xbox" for both of them.
step 3 enjoy your FTP connection.
@EVERY ONE ON THIS FOURM
if you want to know what a .ppf patch is the read carefully,
a .ppf patch is a patch that makes the original(non modded)map to a modded map.
basically it is a memory of every thing that a modder changed on his map, and when you apply it to your map it changes every thing that the modder changed on his one.
it is there to mod maps easily with out the modder having to tell you what you have to change (let me tell you it will take ages if some one trys to do that).
and TO ALL WHO WISH TO CHANGE THEIR HARDRIVE
there are number of tuts on www.xbox-scene.com, if that dosent help you i will put up a tut (and easy one), but the one in xbox-scene is pretty simple.
and TO ALL
i see that ppl are getting modchips to mod their xbox, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DONT. cause SOFTMOD is very easy and i think it costs less then a modchip, and it has a great advantage like if you screw up and get an error your warrenty is still valid. so please try and get a soft mod.

but now i have yet ANOTHER problem :[
when i was looking throught the maps in my xbox
/E/TDATA/4d530064/$C/
i only saw containment, warlock, delta tap, turf, gemini, triplicate, dune, backwash, and elongation...
i dont get it... how am i supposed to mod other maps if these are the only ones i see?
i was hoping to be able to mod Foundation but i could find it so i am really confused... o.o
where are all the other maps? thats basically what im asking :)

im kinda confused about your new problem. so when you FTP you can only see the new maps? and you cant see the old maps right?
tell me the directories you go into mate and i mabey able to help you.
EDIT: the old maps should be located in the halo 2/maps/ . and im not at home at this minute to tell if how to get foundation cause i never modded that map.

You have saved the maps off the Halo2 disk to your xbox yes? All the maps that came with your disk will be saved in Halo2/maps/ as xyron said.

hay not to be a big noob or any thing but i have sid4 for a soft mod and i chose unleashx.
and I have a router set up then i went and did that static and what ever setup and after i do that the ip address reads 0.0.0.0 but then i go back to static and i have a ip of 192.168.0.2 so ya that would be good so then i try to use FlashFXP and type that in and put the user name and pass both as xbox as it is in my xbox and i try to connect and it wont let me it said connection failed and wait some odd seconds.
what do i have to do to get it to work.

well i dont see any Halo2/maps or anything like that o.o
i turn on FlashFXP and i go to this directory
/E/TDATA/4d530064/$C/
in there are 3 folders that contain maps in them... i saw this in a TUT
but now i cant find that TUT
after i looked through the folders i only saw the new maps so i got confused
o.0

if you want to FTP, change the network setting from static to DHCP. it is the eaisest way to connect xbox to pc with out any problems.
so i recommend that you DO NOT use a STATIC IP

get xbox ripper from somewhere (or DVD to xbox if you can find a copy that actually works, most have no exe or xbe or whatever the hell it needs) If you use xbox ripper, put the cd in your xbox, and connect it to your computer. Then start up xbox ripper on your PC. Say where you want to save it and such, and start ripping. it may take a while, and make sure you have 6+ gigs on your computer harddrive before you start, its really hard to try and free up space as fast as it fills it. :P I advise just putting the files you want on your xbox, ie: only the maps you are testing/modding. dont put any single player maps on, because your halo2 disk wont all fit on the xbox harddrive, unless youve got a bigger one installed. I cant remember the web adress for xbox ripper, but google it.

Hey guys! I'm finally back. I'll be off and on for the next few months, working on some projects. Before I have to go again, ModKing13, try downloading and installing DotHalo from a DIFFERENT site. It may be a back file. Drevilyhn, copy and paste the plugin files into the plugins folder of dothalo- that simple. Hope it helps.

#1: You DO NOT need a chip for that or any other mod
#2: You will have to download an app (or use a program that came with the chip) to rip the halo 2 disk to the HDD or your computer (easier to put it on your xbox)
You will not be able to fit many games on your xbox hard drive unless you upgrade it.

apmo6134, get a sppf (s = super if you didnt know) patcher and apply it to the map that way. Then put the map on the xbox.
