shadow84:. yeah, i have xbmc and unleashx as my dashboard, and what i did was added a line of code into the Config.xml file on the c drive, and put this into it
<Item Action="E:\xbmc\default.xbe">Media Center</Item>
Of course you would have it point to whereever your xbmc default.xbe file is, but now it's the first option in the unleashx dashboard for me, right above launchdvd

ok, i have a problem. I need AI hunters to spawn on coagualtion, be able to target enemies and fight just like they would in singleplayer. My problem is that I cant get the hunters to shoot their particle cannons, and i need to swap out a projectile of a gun to spawn them, which isnt at all what i want. I know in the halo 2 singleplayer that all the AI and events are triggered by dialogue, and I want something like ambient noises already on the coagulation map to trigger hunter spawns. It would be the same principal as in singleplayer.
The sounds loop already in coagualtion, so essentially what i want is, at the start or end of an amibent sound file*, a number of hunters spawn in the middle of the map, and fight any players brave enough to try and take them on.
*It doesnt really have to be an ambient sound file, but it has to be something that happens in a multiplayer map without any player interaction, and that continuously loops. I dont care how often the hunters spawn, just as long as they spawn more than once, or at all.
If anyone could help me out in any way with regards to anything I requested in this post, I would be forever grateful.

just some extra notes:
hunters will lag out the game if their deafult sounds not either nulled out or changed to that of the masterchief of elite. The sounds linked to their guns should not lag out the game when their guns are fired, but the sounds they make when they die will always lag out, so change them if you are playing with the hunters.
The hunter melee damage does not relink to the multiplayer map when you take the hunter from a singleplayer map, so you will have to find the melee damage for the hunter in the !jpt tags and import it to the multiplayer map seperately, i think.
as for ambient sounds, the snd! files that will be the most likely to be used on coagualtion frequently will be the three with the starting directory
sounds/ambient/sound_scenery/outdoor_birds/...
thats all i can think of for now.

Well with unleashx as the dashboard, it should be directly on the c: drive, with unleashx.xbe, that's where mine is, and i've got the latest version of unleashx

I just wanted to say thank you to everybody that helped me, I am now able to mod becuase of dvd 2 xbox. It is soooo cool! Anyway thank you everybody for your help. Also, Skwyrl I think there is something to the aimbot thingy that tells the hunter to shoot at enemys, if you can find out how that works it might help to play around with it. It's just a thought but I really have absolutely no clue. Good luck and thank ypu all!

I'm sorry guys but I have to be the voice of oppinion on the issue of modding anything HALO.
Now remember this is just an oppinion and I am not taking shots at any one person in particular.
Now the way I see it is that a majority of people on Kai or XBC are playing via mod. Great, I love this part. The abilitiy herein to modify (MOD) internal werkings of the very same game that others are playing.
So what is one thinking when they say to themselve's
"Man I suck at this game, are there codes/mods to help me win?"
And upon a brief search of the web you discover some mess you can overwrite to existing files (or if your good enough do your own editing) to change your charecters abilities, look, and functionality.
So far I'm still ok with this. You can Complete the game in 2 hrs with these new god like abilities.
Then one gets thirsty for more and thinks the following...
"I sucked at this game till I mod'd, I wonder If I can use it with the multiplayer feature in syslink?"
This, Ladie's and Gent's is, where I have a problem.
From players that don't die to the use of super jumps at anytime It is a constant disturbance to games of any faction allbeit MLG, Swat or more fun games like cat n mouse.
In closing I would like to say again that this is just my opinion and modding ruins the multiplayer function of any game.
I have all original files in my halo directory :D

To TiMM3R: After playing the whole campaign of Halo 2 and knowing all the good sniping spots of all the multiplayer levels I honestly got bored of Halo 2. My friends and I thought it would be fun to mod to see what cool things we could do. My mods aren't for cheating, they're just for fun because they're cool! I don?t necessarily think modding ruins multiplayer, it's a real cool thing to have giant soccer balls on coagulation or a wraith that has spots like a cow! That?s not cheating at all, that?s cool! When I mod I just do it to have fun and also to use things in multiplayer like the fuel rod cannon that you wouldn't normally be able to do in multiplayer. I don?t think that?s cheating if your still using one of the weapons in the game. When I do a system link we all take turns at the modded xbox so no one feels left out. Modding is like a game of rockets, you will probably die in one hit but nonetheless it's fun, in modding if a weapon has a high chance of killing, usually the modder will give people a chance of escaping by giving them something like a big jump height.
I do agree though that if you're going to use modding for cheating that is mean and pretty much pointless, if you can't handle loosing you shouldn't be playing the game in the first place. Modding's not going to help because although you may win, no one will like you if you are a cheater.
If your wanting to have fun changing physics and getting to unreachable places however, modding is a great thing and in my mind a fun way of doing something new and unique with the game.
Thank you for expressing your opinion, it is good to get people thinking of what is fair to everyone and that it is unkind to use modding deliberately against people.

Timmer, i agree with you, the one thing i hate(beside team killing fcktards((red vs blue rules))) is joining a game and having ppl who can jump five stories and whip my ass with ease, and are too small for me to see, but in those cases, i just leave and try another game, anyway, i don't have a problem with them doing that, as long as they only play with ppl with the same mods. however, i like to play it normal, cause more ppl have the normal game instead of modded, and lots more rooms are open with that.

My one and only experience at online gaming was with CounterStrike and I've never done it again because of jagoff cheaters getting impossible headshots on me over and over. They take the fun out of it for decent people and need their hands chopped off.
My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

I can definately say that there ARE enjoyable mods out there.
I played some sort of Demo Derby on a floating race track. And I have to give credit where it is certainly due. Level creation and new map designs are sweet. I am a big fan of Call of Duty: United Offensive, and there are hundreds of user created maps. But maps only.
Call of duty features a little server program called "PunkBuster" and it does what it says.
If your hiding in the same spot too long, your player begins to smoke giving away your position. Any other charecter edits will get you banned from a server immidiately.
Remember:
Map mod's = Awesome!
God Mode/Auto Aim mod's =(your negative description here)

Your right TIMM3R, and its good that people can express their opinion here and not get flamed, unlike most internet forums I am a part of (coincidence maybe?? lol.) I see what you are saying, but what you are forgetting is everyone who mods purely to make them win 100% of the time is definitely a fag who cant play. But I assume most of the people active in this thread are only using their mods for more varied game play, and to change little things that particularly annoy them, and most of all to have the most fun possible with a great game. For instance, I'm not happy with no AI on MP, hence my friends and I modding load of new game types that are quite insane. Its all good really. But yes, completely imbalanced mods shouldn't be used on MP.

Ok, as far as screwing up your xbox goes, Its quite a hard thing to do with Unleash X, so you should be safe enough there. The correct place to save maps in your xbox is E:/games/halo 2/maps/ Create that directory if it isnt already there. Rip your halo 2 disk with xbox ripper, dvd2xbox, or a similar product so all the game files are saved on your computer (this should take about 5gig) and then take all the files except the campaign maps (you can play those from your disk. make an exception here if you want to mod them, but you will not be able to fit the whole game on your xbox HDD, so choose what you want. you can always take those files off and FTP new ones on later. You can also leave out the media folder, if you can really live without cinematics.)and save them to E:/games/halo 2. this way if you go into the games tab on Unleash X, it will come up as Halo 2. you can then play it from your xbox, so go nuts with modding. If you have everything saved to your xbox, but Halo 2 wont play when you click on it, make sure you have all the .xbe files that are in the main halo 2 file when you take it off the halo 2 disk, I always forget them. As far as maps you need to have, for the game to work, you can get rid of every map that has a number in the name (eg 04_deltaapproach, or something to that effect) but make sure you have mainmenu, single_player_shared, and shared.
If you follow that, you should end up with all important files for halot to run on your xbox, and be able to play any modded maps you make, provided you mod them correctly. Any more questions just ask.
NOTE: You have to have all the halo2 files saved to your xbox, its no good to just have the maps you want to mod/play saved, because you will always need the mainmenu, single_player_shard, and shared maps, which the game will read off the disk always. Its easier to do it my way. Forum regulars tell me if I have left anything out.

hey listen im sorry but i got confused reading that.
do you have aim or some IM that we can communicate with?
Edit: Also i thought there was a way to do it using just FTP. by taking the .map files from my xbox to my comp modding them then putting them back on my xbox replacing the old map.
