ive been burning movies for a while using the dvd shrink and nero setup... and i havent had any problems...but i tried to get it going on my girlfriends computer and when i put in a movie dvd shrink doesnt ever recognize that their is a disc there...same with nero...same with dvd decrypter...that makes me think its something to do with her driver or something... any ideas?
itll play movies just fine and it gives me the otpion window of wat do i want to do with this movie and i just click cancel and go into DVD Shrink and i got to reauthor it and open the dvd drive and it normally has the menus then sum stuff then main movie then sum stuff then extras and sum stuff but that whole area is just blank... i have no idea about the firmware... :-/ sorry
i went to hp.com and did the autodetection thing and tried to update the firmware but it said it cant be put on the drive selected or watever.. so does anyone have the right firmware/driver update? will that fix it?
Doesn't look like there is a firmware update yet for this drive. This probably won't make a diff but try uninstalling thru device manager and rebooting.

ey guy, i'm having the same problem with the same drive. Mine reads the dvd, analyzes it in DVD Shrink, but when i go to reauthor, i get it up to where i press backup, and it goes to the window where it begins to analyze, and its so damn slow.. it say 12 hours to burn a dvd.. i don't understand what to do. I too have uninstalled my drive through device manager, installed/uninstalled multiple versions of DVD Shrink, and still no change.
ok.. i got it to work. I just bought this computer, so i restored it to a point where i first installed DVD Shrink, installed it again, and it worked fine. hopefully it works for you
so u just did a system restore? cause thats wat im about to do because it wouldnt even install the printer driver rite off of the cd so i think its completely fuct...can i say that? sorry if i cant lol :-/
