Invalid Parimeter on DVD Shrink

No problems up til now...goes thru the reauthoring process just fine. Go and insert dvd to burn and starts thru the steps and it won't burn because it says INVALID PARIMETER. Could it be the dvd's I am using..it is not the usual ones I use...out of this batch the first 3 burns were successful but now on the last two I get that error. I uninstalled and then reinstalled Shrink to see if that fixed it and it didn't.

its probably your dvdrs you are using.its not unusual for burners to dislike or like particular brands of dvdr.basically the compatibly level of your dvdrs with your burner.the dvdrs worked before but not now means the compatibilty isnt that bad but it isnt great.

possible solutions might be:
1.adjust your burn speed
2.update or reinstall your firmware

i had some fuji dvdrs that wouldnt go thru the burn process without gettig an error on my sony burner.now fuji dvdrs are good discs so it wasnt an issue of the disc being bad rather than my burner wasnt receptive to them.so i adjusted the burn speed to 4x(thats as fast as my burner can burn)and i burned the movie to the disc with no errors and the movie came out great.i now burn at 4x when i use those discs and 1x and 2x on all other discs.

upgrading your firmware might be an option if you are confident that you know what to do.it involves flashing the drive and can be risky.if you do flash the drive,try to get the firmware from the manufacturer of your drive.secondhand firmware is too much of a risk.

Yes I did. I been using Memorex, but I did notice that I had gotten the -R's instead of getting my usual +R's...would that have been the problem?

yeah it could be.make sure your drive is capable of writing to DVD-R.if you have dvd decypter it gives you an option to check your drives capabilities.or you could look up your drive on the internet and find out the capabilities.my drive is capable of burning to DVD-R but it didnt do this too well until i updated my firmware.the whole performance of my sony writer was declining to tell you the truth.im not an expert,but i do have a way of figuring things out.it seems to me with all the programs ive used with my writer that somehow they might have crossed up my firmware alittle bit.so updating or even reinstalling the firmware seems to be very beneficial.occasionally,that is you dont want to go flash your drive everytime time you run into problems.
