I just tried to backup Bewitched (the movie) using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. Shrink gives me an error "Invalid DVD Structure" when trying to open the disc. Decrypter goes all the way to the Encoding stage, but stops on VOB 2.1 or thereabouts and states "can't decrypt VOB 2.1" I also tried the low-tech approach of opening the DVD with Windows Explorer - opens and there is more than your typical Video_TS file. There is a folder with files as well as an autorun.exe and another file in the main directory. If Decrypter is trumped by this DVD, what is my next software option?

DVDFab Decryptor works.
Not sure you meant to use the media forum.

Thanks. Tried it and it worked. Let's hope the folks that make these programs keep ahead of the copyprotection racket.

@anbnguyen & pharamn
What burning program are you using?
What kind of media are you using?
What is the process that you use to burn?

I have tried:
DVD Shrink
DVD Decryptor
DVD 4 Free
DVD fab Decryptor
ANYDVD
CloneDVD 2
***Please keep in mind, I am somewhat new to this. I am probably not using the right settings.
I believe I have ripped the movie correctly to my computer, but when I try to play the movie in windows Media Player, it still gets stuck as soon as I hit the PLAY MOVIE selection on the main menu of the movie. I then tried to burn only the main feature using DVD Shrink, but the same thing happened. I tried to burn the whole thing to a dvd using Shrink, and the menu system works, but again, when I try to play the main feature, it gets stuck on 0:00:00
I have tried Nero, but I cannot get past the protection.
CloneDVD 2 doesn't let me do anything because of the protection. Although I can't find any settings in the program.
Again, I am new to this, so I probably have the right software, I probably just don't know how to use them. I have been able to rip about 30 other DVD's with no problem. This is the first DVD with a protection this elaborate that I've tried.

I have had the same problem trying to copy BEWITCHED & SPANGLISH using DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter & DVD XCOPY. I have copied hundreds of movies without any difficulty until these 2 movies.
I believe that somebody has figured out a clever way to protect new DVD RELEASES. However, I wouldn't worry about it. Eventually, as the problem becomes more common, and the method of protection becomes more popular, somebody will crack it. At that point, DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter and the other programs will be updated.
Personally, I copied these 2 movies to my REPLAY TV. Then, I transfered them to my PC and burned them with Nero. It was not the best video quality, and only 2-channel audio (dolby surround). But, it looks pretty good and at least I have my backup copies. It's better than nothing.

After reading other posts here and elswhere, I realized there might be a decrypter out there that would solve my problem copying BEWITCHED and other movies with the new copy protection. I tried a bunch of the program solutions, but nothing was working at first.
DVDFAB kept locking up and crashing as soon as the BEWITCHED disc was in the drive, but worked on other movies.
Finally, I tried AnyDVD. At first, I didn't think that it worked and I couldn't figure out how I was supposed to use the program. Then, I read a post about it "running in the background."
Sure enough, I ran DVDSHRINK and copied BEWITCHED very fast with AnyDVD running in the background. Does anybody know if any other the other NEW decrypters work the same way? Perhaps, one of the other solutions would have worked if I had been familiar with the way they integrate with other programs like DVDSHRINK.

DVDFab Decrypter has been updated to handle these types encryptions. Get the latest version at http://www.filepedia.com.
AnyDVD also has a new update to version 5.5.5.1 available at http://www.slysoft.com
With these two programs you should be able to crack about anything.
Cheers.
