Well not being able to play games over 650mb doesn't just go for the version 7 it goes for all versions. The only disadvantages with the version 7 is that has the double boot check method and some backups require the use of the cdloader to play them and the cdloader doesn't work on the version 7 and therefore cannot play those games.

Cool I didn't know that. Could you leave a link to where you can downloade for version 7 users?

So I would burn the cdloader on to a cd and use that with the ps2 or is there more to it?
I bought a extended warranty on my ps2 that I've already used once and I don't want to void it if I'm not going to be able to play any of the new games. I can't believe I hadn't heard about these until yesterday. This beta cd loader makes me giddy with anticipation if I find out it works.

cdloader works!!! you need a something to make your ps2 read the swap magic disc such like the fliptop or the no solder mod. cd loader is mult-swapping. doesn't support the v7 ps2 though.

i just tested this so called beta version of cdloader for v7 to load soul calibur 2(jap) and silent hill 3(ntsc) on my v4 ps2 and well.. it didn't work. it shows cdloader screen but after it say put dvd-r on ea method it goes to green screen and won't load double protected games. does this cdloader only works on ps2 v7 only or something? guess i will have to go my friend's house to see if this works on his ps2 v7. phew.. btw i have old cdloader for my ps2 v4 and it loads everything but my friends wanted to play double protected games too. so i just tested, that's all. =(

my copy of vice city seems to be a little too large at 4.6+g, i tried to burn it twice and it would get up to about 99% but never finialize. seems like i was due for a coupla coasters. i know i read somewhere that vice city works, but now how it works just that it does. anyone know how to get around this. when i drop it in the ps2 it just tries to load but just stays on the 'insert disk' screen.

So, anyone tried out this new cdloader beta for v7? Does it work for games like those listed that don't work on v7 with fliptop? I'm hoping it does cause I really really need to backup splinter cell before it gets TOO scratched!!

I just tried the cdloader for v7 beta and can't get anywhere. I must of copied it wrong. When trying to run it I do the following:

1. Insert your CD Swap Magic 2 disc and boot it
2. Swap it with the CdLoaderv7 CDR you just burned as with any PS2 backup
3. I PRESS X and get a Pinkish/red border.

I thought I copied the image correctly to a cd, but guess not. I tried CDRWIN and configured the settings as follows (per Burn.txt that comes in the cdloaderv7.rar file).

Burn the ISO file to a CDR.
You must use these settings:
Disc type: CDROM-XA
Track mode: MODE2 FORM1
FINALIZE/CLOSE SESSION
WRITE POSTGAP
Write speed: LOW SPEED!

How do you make all these settings in Nero and/or RecordNow? Once I get a working copy of the CDLOADER.ISO I will try a few games (one being Splinter Cell).

In the meantime I will continue to work on it.

well, according to the 'usage' instructions:
1. Insert your CD Swap Magic 2 disc and boot it.
2. Swap it with the CdLoaderv7 CDR you just burned as with any PS2 backup.
3. Once it boots (very obvious) eject the CDR with the PS2 eject button.
4. Insert your SM2 DVD (or any other PS2 original with a high TOC)
5. Press X when the original is recognized in the lower left of the screen. This will NOT boot your SM2 DVD/Original PS2 game. It will simply stop the DVD spinning so you can swap!
6. At this point swap with your DVDR backup you wish to boot using flip top or other method.
7. Press X.
8. There you go!

step 3 confuses tme though. I thought that the eject button do a 'soft reset' of the ps2. Or am I missing something?

Alright, I just tested the new v7 cdloader and all seems to work as advertised. the boot process is a bit lenghty, but it works. After you've sucessfully burnt the cdloader iso to cd, boot with swap magic CD, load the cdloader just like you would a backup with the flip top (hitting X to boot the cdloader), and then use the eject button to swap the cdloader with the DVD swap magic and hit X to load it, then (whew, this is getting long) after loading the DVD version of swap magic, swap it out with your backup via the fliptop. I hope y'all can follow that! ;)

I may have wrong version of the ISO. I am in the US and CDLoader says PAL in the top LEFT corner and SPANISH in the top RIGHT. So I can create the image, but would this cause me to not load a backup of SC???

Has anyone been able to backup Bauldar's Gate? I tried booting my backup with swap magic and it just sits at the blue boarder so I tried using the new cdloader for v7 and it freezes at the logo screen. If anyone has had any success with this on a v7, lemme know!!

update: CDLOADER for the V7 loads and I get a GREEN Screen when I put SC in and press X. However it just sits at the green screen. So I guess SCell does not work with this beta version.

Note: CDLOADER reads version 1 in bottom right corner, is this correct?

I downloaded the ISO from http://dvdrick.cjb.net/ . file cdloaderv7.rar. I'm assuming this is correct.
