Hmm so I am going to have to break the black ring that encompases the white cap then? Seems that is the only way I can do it since my version doesn't have the prongs to easily pull out the white cap.

Take that little metal ring out of the white circular plastic piecc and replace it with the heavier metal disc from the white plastic piece that came with your original PS2 casing.

I had my fliptop for quite some time now and had the guy who does it install it for me, $70 dollars total for the fliptop + swapmagic 3.3 cd and dvd discs, I looked at prices for each and thought I got ripped off but no, cause I later figured he charged for the work to. And I would always get backups from him cause I was scared of wasting a dvd and doing it myself, so I did mvp baseball 2005 using DVD Decrypter with sony dvd+r's at 2.4x speed and took 20 minutes, tried it out and worked fine. I'm glad I went this way and now am greatly happy.

: SM3 CD & DVD USA 3.3
: DVD Decrypter @ 2.4x

ooo $70, that could get you a mod chip installed, then you wouldn't have to do disc swapping. Just for future, dont let anyone convince you that you have to have a fliptop pro installed. It justs takes 5 minutes with a screwdriver.

I'm scared about taking off the eject buttons and such. Aren't I supposed to not pull the aluminum lookign cord that holds the buttons in place? Don't I ruin the circuitry taking it out?

My SM cd does the same thing. I tried different ones on mine, and on other playstations. I guess just hit reset until it works. It never takes more than a couple tries. Do you have 3.3 too?

^^^confusting Talk to the one that WAS ment to refund it, if you have the proof of him saying he was going to refund it but didn't, HE has to take it back paying postage at HIS expense.

Flip tops.
I always have my PS2 on its side. Will I still be able to keep my PS2 on its side with a flip top?
Or do I have to keep the PS2 laying flat while using it?

I tried putting my ps2 on the side and when you do the spinning of the CD is louder then putting it flat. I would recommend keeping it flat as it is easier to swap the discs.

I just installed the fliptop and it wont read games anymore. Did I permenantly screw it up? I know it recognizes the DVD drive because when I open and then close the drive, it says reading disc... but it never finds anything.
