I think shrink is the best software it's been my pleasure to use, far more often than not it does the whole lot, without bothering with decrypter

Extremely good program and very effective with over 98% of movies available.

Has some problems with newer ACross protections and no longer updated, however it can still get around most of the newer ACross stuff by using re-author, movie only mode.

Have only have it fail for approx 4/1000 burns.

Pity more people do not take the time to learn how to use it properly.

I use DVD43 in the background but have never used AnyDVD (no need) and yet to encounter movie that I could not rip.

I agree, I love the program DVDShrink. I use it almost 99% of the time. I do use it with DVDdecrypter though and have AnyDVD running in the background.

I also have CloneDVD2 but do not use it very often as it does not allow me to bitset to DVD-rom on the burns. Until I figure out how to accomplish that with my LG GSA4163 I will probably stick with Shrink and reauthor each DVD as I do not need all the extras.

@9mmruger1

Try DVDInfoPro to bitset your disk and then use CloneDVD to burn, this may work out.

I am pretty sure that I have DVDinfopro, but have only used it to look at the media. I will do some exploring tonight. Thanks for the info. I will let you know if it works as using CloneDVD2 would certainly be simpler.

I wish to know when a DVD file (e.g. DVD-9) is compressed to fit into a single-layer DVD, what will be lost in this process? Image?s resolution, color quality, or both?
Playing compressed videos on PC (1024x768 pixels, 32-bit color), I could hardly tell the difference.
Your guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Dear LocoEng,

I didn't really answer myself, since my concern is whether or not this process (e.g. in DVDShrink)is lossless, and the degradation (if any) due to Compression process might noticeable only on larger and higher-definition screen (which I don't have).
Thanks and Regards,

Of coarse there is loss of quality but more times than not it is not noticable to the human eye...and a larger screen TV, I would think would show more flaws than smaller screen.

@arniebear

I looked to see if I could do this in the free version and could not find where to do this. Can you provide a screenshot for me?

thanks
