I am new to this forum and I have found some very useful information. I dont know if I have overlooked the topic or not but I was just wondering if I could use DVD Shrink just from the download that I found in another thread or do I also need the DVD Decryptor?

I currently have the DVD X Copy Platinum but for some reason, after my system crashed, I cannot register it anymore. I found out they the company went out of business and i do not know who to contact to get activation. If someone could tell me how to get my DVD X registered that would be nice too.

do I need to have Nero installed in order to burn my DVD after it gets done Encoding?

You can burn with Nero or DVDdecrypter depending on how you have Shrink set up. You would make that choice in DVDShrink. I personally do not have Nero so cannot speak to the qualitys or drawbacks of the program. Lots of folks here swear by it.

I use DVDdecrypter to do my burning, and I also have imgburn (http://www.imgburn.com)which is a free burning program as well, but it does not rip the file like decrypter. Same individual wrote both programs.

There is so much information at this site that it may seem daunting at times, but it is not difficult.

There are a couple of guides in my sig block. I would recommend reading them. They include pictures. Guides by bbmayo specifically on dvddecrypter and shrink are especially good.

Follow them step by step and you will have it down.
