Strange events are taking place at my school. About two weeks ago a girl got killed in a car accident when her boyfriend was trying to overtake another car. This week a guy got killed when he crashed on his motorcycle. Today after school a student got hit by a car walking across the street. I am super sad, although they were not close friends. My school is in such a congested area!!

just make sure you look both ways before crossing the street, always wear your helmet, and make sure you got enough road to pass. or just stay indoors and never go outside and you'll be fine. well then you could slip and fall in the bathtub, or get electrocuted in the kitchen, or get food poisoning, or your roof could fall in and crush you.... well ok nevermind, we're doomed no matter what.

Kinsa, it is always sad when deaths, especially young folks, happen in your community, even if you weren't close friends with them.

The saddest part is the fact those deaths could have easily been prevented. Please remember that, once you get your drivers license.

i think most of it comes down to people just are not careful anymore. cell phones, make-up, reading the paper, whatever. people do all kinds of stupid stuff while they are supposed to be driving.

Especially the cell phones. On my way to work one day when I lived in WV I met a car on the top of a steep hill in the center lane. Luckily I was paying attention and was barely able to avoid him. It was a WV state trooper and he was on his friggin cell. You'd think they would know better! Ya just gotta keep your eyes open and always figure the other guy is a total idiot!

wow, people must have a lot of problems. the sad thing is, deaths could be prevented if parents raised their kids properly.

The columbine incident was pretty bad. Didn't Marilyn Manson get some of the blame for that because of his music.

I blame the rappers :)

Seriously though, deaths close to home, even if not to the heart are very sad. I remember one kid at my school dying of a brain heamorrage last year. Man it is just so shocking.

wow, i do remember the alumni soldeir who died fighting in Iraq. very sad, i saw the funeral processions. his body was so mangled that his family couldn't tell it was him. he had stepped on a bomb. just want to thank all the soldiers fighting for us, even though i'm against the war.

you can't always blame the parents for how people turn out.from what i hear the columbine incident the teenagers were outcast and on very unsafe medication that made them go nuts.

I too was hit by a car when I was 7 years old. My daughter, who is that age now, knows to look both ways, twice. I was in the hospital for a week with that one.

yes marilyn manson got a bunch of crap over columbine, and the sad thing is the kids didn't even listen to his music. for people to even think someone would do something so stupid because of someone else's music. I listen to manson every single day and to be quite honest, i've killed very few people. and the chopping up of small furry mammals was a hobby long before manson came along. if you watch bowling for columbine, manson says one of the smartest things i heard anyone say over the whole issue. michael moore asked him what he would say to the kids if he could say somehting to them right now. Manson was very quick to reply with "nothing, i'd listen to what they had to say, which is what no one did." Manson is just the new world scapegoat, just like alice cooper was, and before him it was ozzy, before that it was the rolling stones. the world needs someone to point their boney little perfect fingers at and say "look, there's the bad guy" instead of just taking on the responsability themselves. as far as columbine, i blame the freakin stupid kids that did it! why is it that everyone in todays whiny ass society has to find an underlying reason for every freakin thing that happens. news flash world, some people are just plain old crazy, or plain old stupid. there doesn't have to be a freakin torrid past, or bad childhood, or anything. we as a society create these freaks with our happy meals and "give me everything right now" attitudes. spoon feed meat to the masses and sooner or later a few will become carnivores! but of course we'll try and find something else to blame for it.

i got it now...if the suicidal people had all the guns then there would be less crime.then the suicidals would have a stroke of genius and say "hey we got all the guns.lets take over the world".then they would take over the world and not be sad anymore.thus not killing themselves.problem solved.:)

"properly"?you got the handbook on that?ive known parents that bent over backwards for their kids and they still turned out to be gun toters with attitudes or mental problems.for some reason kids idolize having guns or have the paranoid feeling they need one for protection.neither should be a reason for having guns and kids shouldnt have guns, period.if anything their parents were trying not to be overbearing and give their kids some freedom.they in turn hit the internet looking for guns.the solution would be the parents clamp down on their kids freedom.which would bring alot of bitching and complaining from the kids that their parents are communist.in plain english, there are alot of spoiled brats in this world that think they know it all at a young age.and with the advent of mass media kids are growing up way too fast.and the situations they get themselves into are way out of their league.its a social problem that has reached epic proportions.there is no one reason or quick-fix solution for it.people are just gonna have to find it in themselves not to be that way with alittle guidance from other people.:|

and we definitely dont need to put all the guns in the kids hands....they might kill all the criminals and suicidal people..;)
