Hi all,

I have ver. 2.5 (free ver.) and on 3 different converter software programs I have been getting the same error: cce encoding failed: error: video check - sum is different from that of previous pass, source video data or time code may be different. Seems like this happens after making 1 or 2 passes and starting on the 3rd, don't think 1 pass will work. I would like to try the newer ver. 2.70 (trial ver.) but can't get it installed, no way. Any help appreciated, thanks, Bill.

Well what the Error means is that CCE seems to think that the Video file has Somehow Changed in the Time between the First Pass and when the error occurs...this can Happen if useing AVISyth to Frameserve your File to CCE and are useing a Strong Noise Filter but I doubt you are useing AVISynth??

Well what I would suggest is that you not use the Multi-Pass VBR encodeing Mode(Or Try it with Just One Pass) but use the "One Pass VBR" encodeing Mode and set your Max and Minimum Bitrates and then set the "Q" Level to "30" which should Produce Good Quality and a Small file Size and all In One Pass.....

Hi Minion,

I've used dvdtoscdvd and now using the film machine which has Avisyth built in. I had chosen 2 passes. It makes the 1st file (vaf) and then when making the mpv file it crashes and then the error appears. Not using a strong noise filter. What do I set the min/max bitrates to. I've
read about a crc patch that might fix this error. How do I find it. I also can't see where to edit the bitrates or the Q in CCE. I can select the # of passes in the film machine in (options) with CCE as the encoder used, there's 3 encoder selections in the box. The box dosen't say VBR or CBR. Thanks for any more help. If I keep plugging away at this eventually I'll get it right. I tried DivXtoDVD but the file turned out like slow motion (stopping and starting etc.)

The 'Q' options appears only if you choose 1-pass VBR.
