Madagascar - noooo not again :)
i recently did Madagascar effortlessly with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.0 (free) then Shrunk with DVD Shrink as normal. what i did do was use my dvd-rom/cd-write combo drive (like io do for most of my ripping); didn't try to rip it on any of my dvd burners as i'd done the movie already but it's always nice to have a couple of optical drives..as if a movie won't play ball on one drive you always have a choice of drives to use..

i concede that there must be a reason ppl are having such grief with it, the very rare times i have problems ripping i try ripping on one of the dvd burners and have never encountered a film that wouldn't rip

thats not true.If it wasnt this one it was another, like mr and mrs smith etc.People are just in to much off a hurry to burn there movies with out looking at all the things that they should be doing and if they did, they more than likely wouldnt get all this grief

naw, i don't think i can do that over this side of the pond. i'm getting by with DVDFab Decrypter for now, i'll be fine with that until they're no doubt the next firm to be closed down :(

So, If I copy Madagascat to my Computer and then I will be able to use DVD Shrink to Burn it on disk. Or do I have to do it another way.

Yes and no. Shrink will encode the move but it does not have a burner so you will need to use Nero, dvddecrypter or a similar program that does the actual burning.
Use the guide in my signature for more details on the process.

I ment that I have to encode it first. While I'm encoding it with DVD Shrink I'm running into a memory error. I think it has something to do the buffer because it starts to gets pretty big. Any ideas ??

how about we all suggest something diffent.Yes shrink this and shrink that, but we need new substitutes as shrink it seems isnt working for every one

Yeah, when you open it there is a fox head in the system tray and it is dark red. If the fox head is in the system tray then the program in running in the background. Then when you put a dvd into the dvd drive the fox head will go pale and then dark red again, and it takes a few seconds to work it's magic. That's when the encryption breaking is done. Now open the ripping program and go to town!
Also, how much ram do you have for your system?

about the ram, not sure I am at work. So install AnyDVD and then put in the movie (Madagascar) wait for the little fox in the corner and then I can run DVD Shrink ? When I put the movie in it automatically starts up, can I just stop it and run AnyDVD ?

I had copied Stealth. Here are what I used:
DVDFab (to rip to file)
Shrink To5 (to transcode)
My copies works perfectly. I found this software recently, and start to love it, since it allow me to take the extras completely instead of compressing them with Shrink.

benjam AnyDVD will read the dvd ,give it about 20 or 30 seconds to do it and its done ,you can set AnyDVD in the "program" tab "Show information window for new media" that way a box will pop up and you can see what the program did to the dvd ,then open you fav. encoder DVD Shrink ,DVD Decrypter or CloneDVD 2 (which be my choice) and encode/burn the dvd ,heres a guide that will walk you though doing it

Yeah that. When I run AnyDVD the fox head is dark red in the task bar. I put in the DVD and wait for about 20 to 30 seconds for the fox head to flash pale red and return to dark red. After that, most times a popup window appears asking what do I want to open the video with. I just close that window and then open DVDShrink or DVDdecrypter depending on which one I plan on using.
Then you use the program as normal and AnyDVD has done its job already by removing the protections.
Sometimes I think that many of the problems that people are haveing can be caused by rushing the process and not allowing AnyDVD time to get things done correctly. By this, I mean that they bottle neck their computer by starting too many things at one time.
Just a thought.
