Hi guys, I am new to this site and need some help. before everyone jumps, i did a search for about an hour and could not find what i was looking for.

Basically my dvd shrink (version 3.2.0.15 supposedly the latest) cant copy disks that have that dvd copy protected stamp on the back of the covers. it usually gets to different % of the encription and gives me a cycling error.

i had heard that there is a fix for this as well as the sony dvds but cant find any relevent info. All of your help would be appreciated even if it is just the link to the appropriate thread (if one exists).

Thanks in advance.

Alright here we go =)

First off welcome to aD...

DVD Shrink is no longer updated so hence it will not be able to handle the newer movies, the older stuff it eats up no problem.

So there's a few options:
1) Use DVDFab Decrypter (can be downloaded from aD under "Software"), it's free and it will rip the movie to your hdd then you have to run it through DVD Shrink to compress it. It's updated on a regular basis.

2) AnyDVD w/ DVD Shrink, AnyDVD runs in the background and automatically decrypts any disc you insert, so the disc will appear not encrypted to DVD Shrink. This is a great little program! It's $29 (I believe) to buy and you get free lifetime updates with it. IMO well worth the money.

As far as Sony protection, both programs will be able to handle it.

For the copy protected stamp, most of thoses Shrink should be able to handle, if not try one of these two options and it should work.

Also, AnyDVD has a 21 day free trial, (download from "software" here on aD)

Hope this helps,
I've always used DVD Shrink and AnyDVD and have never had a problem with any movie....
