A peak PIF of about 4 on a BenQ would be roughly equivelant with a peak of 1 on a Lite-On. I have a Lite-On and a BenQ and although the peak PIF is different the quality score is usually very similsr.

alcohol - what in the world is "BLEACH_55__5" and "SHAPOLANG"?

@beltline
BLEACH 55 - 58 is one of the hottest anime from Japan (I actually enjoyed this series more than Naruto), believe it or not my 10 year old son got me hooked on BLEACH.
SHAPOLANG is one of the best triad/cop action/thriller that had just unleashed from Hong Kong in 2005. I have to agree that SPL is one of the best movie from HK in a very long time. Shapolang is starring Sammo Hung (Jackie Chan's long time buddy aka older brother back in Opera School, Donnie Yen (from Hero, Iron Monkey and Once Upon A Time In China II) and Simon Yam (from Full Time Killer and A Bullet In The Head). Sammo Hung played as a triad/gangster boss, man he's freaken awesome, his acting skills are fantastic throughout the whole movie, plus the actions are raw (not that much, but it's raw and good).
Sorry folks, didn't mean to go off topic here, but since "beltline" wants to know what they are. Therefore, I have to answer him.

So to go further off topic, what kind of anime are you into Alkohol? I noticed your NV4 guide converts Naruto video files to DVD. Have you ever seen RahXephon, Berserk, Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop, or Inuyasha? Those are some of my all time favs. Do yourself a favor and check out RahXephon if you haven't already. Berserk is really good too, but you definitely don't want to watch it with your 10 year old, that one's not for the kiddies. What's some of your favorite anime? Off topic, but we're AD addicts, I think we have a little leeway lol.

What? I don't know what you're referring to. You can't post pics off your HD, you have to upload them to a photo server like imageshack.us or photobucket.com.

just goes to show you what quality media is about..

Those are okay. 16x discs tend to not be as good of quality as 4x or 8x discs. I had hardly any skips with Taiyo Yuden's in my PS2. Probably if my laser wasn't 5 years old, I'd have none. The 16x are okay, but in the future go with 8x or 4x Taiyo Yuden's or Verb's. Remember to burn at half the max speed of the disc.

+ is the way to go now a days.... simplicity of booktyping is permitted, providing your burner can be set to booktyping the dvd+ to dvd-rom.
basically, it make the dvd more universal and lowers the possibility of it not being played in a stand alone dvd player, where as the - format is just stuck there....

yes you can.. as long as its the full version.
open burning rom, close the first window that opens, then select the drive at the top, hit options, and on the page at the lower left side, it will say booktype...
set it there.

well, if you have the +format, you can set it to dvd-rom... all mine are booktyped to dvd-rom, even though my dvd player pretty much plays anything i throw at it....
but the choice is yours...
i'd go dvd-rom.. lessen your chances for it to not play, plus if you loan out the disk and someone has a dinosaur dvd player, chances are it will play !!

Yeah. Gear79 he's burning PS2 games I believe, so whether DVD+R's/DVD-R's work is more a matter of what version PS2 he has. If you have a v.5 or later Bleiss, DVD+R's booktype to DVD-ROM should work fine, but not always. I'm assuming you're burning PS2 games from your post in another thread. If you're not, then disreagard this post.
23. Q. What version is my PS2?

You weren't misleading him, how was he supposed to you were burning PS2 games. I only knew because I saw your post in the PS2 DVD-ROM forums. Gear79 is very knowledgable about DVD burning and his posts are full of good advice. I only interjected because I knew he wasn't aware you were referring to burning PS2 games. That version PS2 should read DVD+R's fine. Follow Gear79's advice and booktype them to DVD-ROM. Cheers!

@BLeiss
According to my knowledge, any late PS2 version 4 -> current should be able to play both formats (DVD-R & DVD+R) easily. However, if your burner is capable of "book typing" or "bitsettings", then you should be able to change the book type from any DVD+R into DVD-ROM easily, thus it's more compatible with your PS2 console.
Like I've said many times before, as a matter of fact, all original PS2 games and dvd movies are pressed as DVD-ROM, therefore, DVD-ROM format is the most compatible (the best), the one and only "universal" format available on the planet at this very moment.
Good luck with book typing and burning.
@Tokijin
My favorite anime series at the moment are BLEACH, Fighting Spirit, Samurai Champloo and Naruto. Yes, I did saw all of those that you listed. Cowboy Bebop probably is the only one that I like more than the rest, Escaflowne was ok, Berserk gets boring after a while, Inuyasha is ok (both of my sons love that show dearly), but I think it's more suitable for 7 -18 years old kids only. Another great anime series is Kenshin aka Samurai X, I did enjoyed this one as much as I enjoyed Naruto.
All I can say is... once you're hooked into BLEACH and Fighting Spirit, you'll be craving for more. By the way, my all time favorite anime movie is Ninja Scroll, it is arguably one of the best anime movie. *NOTE: I said favorite anime movie, not seires?
